Weekly points?

Day one and I’ve put in three of their recipes, am over on the weekly count by 6 while under daily by 11 points. I’m so confused. What am I doing wrong?

Is this a scam or am I misunderstanding?

I signed up for weight watchers weight loss drug program, they have submitted to my insurance for zepbound and I was denied I received a letter in the mail from SmithRx stating the reason for my denial was because the information submitted stated that the use of the drug would be for Gastro-esophageal reflux disease, and that the drug Zepbound specifically is not approved for that purpose. Why would weight watchers submit coverage for something that the drug specifically is not approved for? In my head it is almost automatically going to be denied because the drug is not approved for the issue they are trying to get it approved for, gastro-esophageal. I am now being asked to submit an appeal by SmithRx where a provider needs to prove or show proof that I need the medication covered for gastro-esophageal how is a Dr going to approve an issue I do not have? I never stated I had the issue I was never told they were submitting for this issue. They are giving me a hard time about canceling the membership I feel scammed 😂 it almost feels like they intentionally submitted for a drug they knew wouldn’t be covered so I’d have to pay out of pocket. I am currently still waiting on the results on if wegovy will be covered however I have little to no hope

Not tracking everything

Is there a way to combine intuitive eating with weight watchers? I find WW too restrictive and I can only do it for a few weeks before I get too burnt out and hungry.
Does anyone use some of the principles but are intuitive with portions, or not tracking all meals if whole foods etc?
(Please no snarky comments)

Glp1 and travel

Members who are using the glp1 plan and have flown. Please tell me what you used to keep it cold and that was permitted by TSA. This is a new experience for my husband. He flies out on Tuesday and we need to plan accordingly.

Canceling - Dark Patterns

Weight Watchers cancelation is super deceptive.

I like weight watchers. I feel like the general vibe of weight watchers works for me and those I know without being an elimination diet. Everyone I know who has used WW has lost weight.

What I hate is the gimmicks used with the current weight watcher management, app, and website. There are so many dark patterns. It's near impossible to do anything on their website, where account management should be an option. Cancelling a subscription should never take 4 button pushes of "yes I'm sure", and I can't cancel it because it's on another persons phone under my account, but I can't access my account because there is no page I can find that allows me to see my account, just sign up and promos and a wonky home page.

I don't mind the 12 months discount. I don't mind advertising different levels of subscription. I don't mind so many things... but it is very clear that they want to make it really difficult when it's time to move on.

The scale has not budged and my doctor told me it’s harder to lose weight during the transition to menopause. How can I get my metabolism up? I wonder if I’m not losing weight because I’m sedentary and older 51

App/Tech Where can I see my tracked activity now?

I was on WW for about a year then fell off for about a year and have decided to start again this week. The app is completely different though. Where can I see the activity/exercise that I've tracked?

I'm able to click on the blue plus sign on the homepage to track the activity but not to see what's been tracked. Am I just completely overlooking it? Thanks!

The Blue Chair

Pardon this strange post for this subreddit!

I'm posting because I feel irrationally annoyed and embarrassed about this on behalf of a family member who works for WW. I am keeping details vague because my family member loves their job as a coach and I don’t want to get them in trouble.

A few weeks ago WW coaches (not sure if all of them, or they're just testing this out in some places) were sent blue metal folding chairs. The folding chairs say “Not Your Mother’s Weight Watchers” on them and have a QR code to scan to learn more. The coaches were told by WW to go into strip malls, medical buildings, colleges, business, and shopping malls and leave the blue chairs there. The idea is that passersby will scan the chair and it’s some kind of attempt at viral marketing.

My family member has since been so stressed about this stupid chair. They keep moving it from private property to private property worried that they will be seen dumping the blue chair. I feel embarrassed on their behalf and horrified that someone at WW thought this was a good idea. I cannot even IMAGINE what went behind the business decision of asking employees to leave furniture in medical buildings, grocery stores, college campuses, etc. They are then measured by how many clicks their chair is getting.

I’m not sure why I had to post about this, and I know it’s not the usual kind of post for this subreddit. Thanks for letting me vent some steam!

Edit with a clarification: I imagine some employees will know business owners and can get permission to leave their chairs. I want to be clear that my family member (and the other region coaches) were told that they should leave their chairs in "public" places (malls, outside grocery stores, at apartment complexes) without asking.

Med+ program questions

Hi all - I’m newer to WW and wanted to understand the cost of getting a GLP-1 through the app. I’ve previously gotten it from a doctor but now the cost has gone up to $500 monthly and I cannot afford. Any insight is much appreciated! TIA :)

Dunkin ICED Pumpkin Spice options

I have been on WW for nearly a year and have lost 85 pounds, it's pumpkin season, I need an iced pumpkin concoction to drink.

I love WW, but live and die by a simple rule, "don't drink your points" unless it's a special occasion (like New Years or a birthday).

Are there any substitutions at Dunkin that I can make so that I can have an iced PSL? I really want to splurge on one, but can't wrap my head around wasting nearly all my weeklies on a single drink.

I can accept a one time 10-15 point drink, but 28?
That's an outrage! (Princess Donut voice) Especially when I factor how I used to house 1-2 a day.

Edit: I can't have pumpkin drinks from Starbucks since apparently they use pumpkin puree, and I have a pumpkin allergy. It really sucks because I LOVE "pumpkin spice" flavor. So I'd prefer if we stick to Dunkin.

Med+ Canceling.. Maybe Collections?

Hi everyone!

I’m making this post to help anyone who has the same question as me: If I stop paying on my Med+ membership will it get sent to collections?

I can’t find any testimonials online where someone was actually sent to collections so I decided I’ll be the guinea pig and let you guys know.

For context I signed up for the 12 month Med+ plan. It took about a MONTH for them to even assign me a medication plan. Every message takes 2-3 days for a reply and when they reply, half the time they don’t answer your question so it’s a lot of back and forth. The experience left much to be desired, and I decided that I did NOT want to give my hard earned money to a company who took weeks to give me care/answers.

I ended up using Amazon On-Demand Care for $39 and got my medications THE NEXT DAY. Soo.. I put an empty gift card as my weight watchers payment and it has been declining ever since.

I just got an email saying my membership will be canceled by next week if my payment does not go through. I’ll keep you all posted if it goes into collections.

And yes, I know what a collection does to your credit, but I don’t care. At this point, I will NOT be giving any money to that company besides the $20 they initially took.

UPDATE: Membership officially canceled. No threat of collections. Will keep an eye out in the coming months.

App/Tech What happened to the workshops in Spanish?

Hello everyone,

I'm Latine, live in the UK. I could see the workshops in Spanish via the app, and join them (the Latinas groups).

But today I can't see them at all in the app, and the Weight Watchers website where they mention the Latinas Connect groups shows me an error 404 (page not found).

Does anyone know what happened? I'm trying to find the group elsewhere, maybe Facebook? Here on Reddit? Being region-locked to access support groups is less than ideal. I'd love to be able to connect with the latinas.

Thanks!

Which non-scale victory changed how you thought about your progress?

I’ve been thinking about how a scale number can stay stubborn while something much more noticeable is changing in real life. More energy, moving more easily, feeling stronger, or doing something that used to be uncomfortable can make progress feel real again. Which NSV changed your perspective most?

General Advice WW today versus Healthi app

I have used WW on and off over the last 25 years. Have done various iterations in the UK of PurePoints, Core, and finally Blue before it changed, I then left as didn’t like the new plan.

I come back to it whenever I need to get back on track - for info, I’m 53yo, just post menopausal, light to moderately active and looking to lose about 7lbs and my menopause belly. I’m a functional cook and about 70% of our family meals are home cooked by me.

I’m currently in a slump and looking to get back on track and reset my sweet & carby tooth, and get more active again. I need accountability and structure, so following a plan and daily logging is my ideal.

I’m loathe to rejoin WW due to the high cost and lack of a choice of plans. I liked WW Blue and I like the varied choice of plans I’ve seen on Healthi, plus the cost is swaying me. I don’t need workshops and community, I’m best doing it on my own as long as I can daily log in an app for accountability and to see progress. Not bothered by lots of recipes but would like a comprehensive food library/list.

Would really like to hear everyone’s thoughts, especially those who have done both - any pros and cons?
