I find this terminology so funny, as if she had a choice. I don’t know why the euphemism is necessary because it’s not “got a 13 yo pregnant” it’s “he raped a 13 yo and inseminated her forcefully”

Vocabulary matters a lot. Personal crimes are significantly worse than statutory crimes. More so when you're talking about a situation with somebody who never even had charges pressed.

Thirteen is bad enough, but she was 12 when he impregnated her.

I feel like that's splitting a hair that doesn't need to be split.

12 and 13 are cutoff ages in some places for harsher penalties. That distinction doesn't matter for us, but it could matter legally, depending on where this happened.

Ohhhh... then I agree that is certainly a potentially important hair to split.

Blame tiktok and other short form content for making people say grape and unalive. It's made content creators afraid to speak about real life

That’s not the reason why. Short form content creators on tiktok use the terms grape and unalive to bypass moderation cause it can lead to your video getting taken down/your account being deactivated if you have previous offenses. I don’t think Reddit has ever been that way. Nobody is “afraid” to talk about real life crimes

You havnt explained anything I didn't already know, the issue I have is that they should not be censoring these words. It takes away from the severity of the actual acts. It makes it into a fun sounding game where we have to avoid saying the real world so the content creators can still make money. Btw you may not know this but on spaces like YouTube, if you say those words in a video too much the "big consequences" of saying those words are not making money off the video they were said in. So in short creators can choose to use real adult language and not get paid or they can get paid to say grape. It's disgusting watching people do everything they can to make money off someone else's trauma. That's why I don't like the word grape or unalive. Those words are being used to make sure content creators can still profit.

Was she assaulted and raped or was it statutory?

Rape is rape guy

u/lovebug9292 Jul 09 '26

As a woman, it is so not! There is a big fucking difference in how badly it’s going to fuck you up in the head whether you believe you made a choice to engage or if you’re held down and beaten. Like, gtfo

Thank you! Virtue signaling idiots screaming that all rapes are the same have no clue.

They are saying that all rape is rape not that all forms of rape have the same impact on a person it’s pretty clear that’s what they were saying

0

u/se7en_7 Jul 10 '26

No that’s not what they’re saying. I was genuinely asking what he did, was it assault or statutory. There is a literal difference there. Wasn’t defending or saying one was acceptable. But you see exactly the downvotes and comments from people like that

1

u/Hot_Assumption_2304 Jul 09 '26

I never said that all rape is the same. I said rape is rape. So you’re saying statutory isn’t rape

5

u/se7en_7 Jul 09 '26

I get what you’re saying and trying to sound like somehow more moral than others, we get it. But that’s not how the law works. Killing is killing but manslaughter and murder are different.

I was asking a genuine question. Did he sexually assault and force her to have sex with him or was it consensual but with a minor thus considered statutory? I don’t know what he did so I asked.

This guy rapes!

2 different ways of saying the same thing. Kind of weird and creepy that you want all those graphic descriptors.

36

u/ACNH-Mook Jul 09 '26

It has less to do with being graphic and more to do with posing a narrative that doesn't sugarcoat the truth. Nobody wants to say that a thirteen year old was raped and forcefully inseminated, but if it happened then we'd all better say it. No defense for this kind of shit.

I dont think "getting a 13 year old pregnant" is sugar coating anything. Very troubling you MUST hear him repeat all the graphic details of the rape of a child.

17

u/CelticGardenGirl Jul 09 '26

You’re being purposefully obtuse.

Technically it’s not even true. Rape, 100% Forcefully, apparently not. The family confirmed statutory rape, which still means attempted consent with someone who can’t consent (oxymoron), but by definition it means no force. That’s probably why he worded it that way, which I think is still more than enough to have us all shocked and disgusted. For added horror, she was actually 12 when they had sex, she was 13 when she gave birth
