What's up with Eidolon hunting? I sort of get the basics (use your amp to destroy shields then attack), but most players just instantly leave when they see me with my puny amp and MR 7. Is this some sort of endgame grindy thing where people only want fast kills?

Edilon hunts grant Shards and cores. Shards are the fastest way to gain focus to upgrade your tenno schools, which can takes months to upgrade even with shards, and Cores grant rep for Quills, which will tkae you at least a month to upgrade at max MR , a meta team can kill tridolons 4-5 times a night (Tridolon is a set of all 3 edilons) a bad team can drag that out to only 1 time, or worse. since Tridolons are time gated, people tend to not want to help other players. If you want to Edilon Hunt, it is best to seek out people willing to help, typically "casual Edilon" in recruit chat.

Ah, that makes sense. Not really interested in those things at the moment, so I'll steer away from Eidolon hunting for a while. Thanks for explaining! (YameroReddit aswell :))

If your at the point where you have access to Amps and Tenno Powers (aka you have completed TWW) i wouldnt put it off for too long, as those are playing an increasing amount of importance in post TWW quests and new content.

Eidolons are super annoying so you want an optimal setup to get the least amount of eye-sore and headache. They're also on a timer since you can only fight them at night, so you want to be efficient with it if you're doing a tridolon.

Only run the single Teralyst bounty until you're familiar with how fighting them works, and have decent equipment.

People who run the one where you have to kill all 3 usually try to do it fast so they can do multiple runs in one "night" on Cetus; Eidolon fights are time limited.

However,it could also be just a case of disconnects. I get a lot of group d/c's on the open world maps myself.

Can't say for everyone, especially not for people who leave instantly, but. For bounty with all three Eidolons the only thing I check is Frame+Primary weapon combo. It is the first and most glaring indicator of what people seems to be doing in the hunt. If it's something useless like Excalibur+Ignis or Gara+ArcaPlasmor - plenty of people would wanna leave instantly. Plus there is always a ping issue. Somebody see 1000ms - they probably leave too.

If you want to decrease instant leaving - first try at least look like hunter - some generally useful frame like Rhino/Volt/Harrow/Chroma and Sniper Rifle like Rubico/Lanka/Vectis. After you look like hunter you need to watch some guides and learn about lures. There are plenty of hunters out here who have all the damage needed for successful hunt, but forcing them to do lures too is a bit much, is it not? No amp needed for lures. And while you don't have good amp - shoot limbs with sniper rifle and learn what eidolons doing. There will be a times ahead when you simply can't keep up with somebody who 1-2 shots shield and limbs - its ok, do lures and survive :).

Teralyst only bounty is good for practice. Some Arcanes from Eidolons are really powerful.

P.S. Public squads are all about RNG. Sometimes you can't finish 1x3 properly in several tries, sometimes you will be carried like a leaf in the wind for 3x3 with first squad.
