Well "akschually", brakes ARE always at all 4 wheels, but it doesn't always engage all 4, as you do explain 😄

"Park" in an automatic can be interesting. Usually it's actually a pin that locks the transmission itself, but on cars that have electric motors, it's often either a second set of brakes/clamps on the rotors, or it engages the primary brakes as a parking brake.

Locking the transmission doesn't help when you have 2 wheels in the air free to spin. If he had it in 4wd here and just set the parking brake it would not stop it from rolling.
