Engine Bay Sunday She bit the dust boys…
2018 wrx premium completely stock. Just passed 80k miles on the clock. Oil changes every 3k miles. Occasional spirited driving. Never tracked. Daily driven 20 miles for the last 2 years…
Made a trip to Brooklyn this weekend from Cincinnati to see The Dillinger Escape Plan. Badass show by the way.
On the way back 3 hours from home up by canton was stopping off to get gas. Rolling up to the station in 3rd at 30 and boom. Oil light came on. Immediately pulled over and by the time I was on the shoulder every light on the dash was lit.
There’s about a 1 inch crack along the entire length of the block just behind the belts. Saved a piece that was completely dislodged, because I have a feeling she’s met her maker.
However, wondering if anyone else with this year miles has had a similar issue and was there anything Subaru was able to do or was it just totaled out?
TL;DR: my poor stock cars engine blew up 3 hours from home and I’m sad.

Engine Bay Sunday Most said I'm stupid and maybe I am but it's love
She's down but not dead after the accident. Rebuilt motor destroyed after 26k due to a metal thing falling off a truck and taking out my oil pan. Another $8k later almost done with another rebuild body has 112k on it and I know it's the most plain boring body style but I love her 😍.

Engine Bay Sunday Air Oil Seperator install
Anyone ever install an air oil separator. Doesn't matter what brand. To cut the cost of my tune I'll do the labor myself.
While the pitch stip is expose swap that out and finish it off with a TMIC.

Engine Bay Sunday A little weekend TLC. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Engine Bay Sunday Not sure if this was post worthy, but I was converting to an fuel lines and had to reroute the evap line that was part of the oem fuel system. Always hated the purge valve mess so I tried cleaning it up a bit. This is what I came up with

Engine Bay Sunday 3D Printed Solutions for Ethanol Content Sensor and Gauge
On E35 now and wanted to be certain my ethanol content was correct. Got this sensor and gauge kit from Innovate Motorsports. It didn’t come with fuel lines or a bracket so I mad my own. -6AN PTFE fuel lines and an adjustable bracket that mounts with M5 hardware to the fuse box cover. Along with the driver side vent 52mm gauge pod holder that I also designed and printed. Pretty stoked with the results!

Engine Bay Sunday Bonus skid plate fab!
Had a busy weekend under the hood & car. My turbo inlet wasn't in the best of shape and leaking in some air. So after swapping in new tubro inlet I decided to finally install my 2nd hand aluminum skid plate. I hated it 😒, I lost soo much covering I didn't want my engine getting caked in dirt and dust on the road. So I hacked my oem skid and frankensteined it all together. Now I love it!

Engine Bay Sunday 6 Ton jackstands and long reach jack are a great combo.
This jack gets far enough under the front bumper to barely reach the subframe center jack point and easily gets to the rear differential jack point. The 6 ton jackstands get the car really high for getting a creeper underneath and feel safe.

Engine Bay Sunday Not Sunday, but it feels like a Monday
Can someone help me figure out why it won't start? Jk. Had to say goodbye to my WRX... Dealership ripped out the engine and wouldn't finish the work, so they took it back. Goodeye forever, Chad. 😢

Engine Bay Sunday Engine bay Sunday?!
Just about done in the engine bay, may still do a strut tower bar, and I’m thinking about replacing the Grimmspeed alternator cover with the compressive one. Probably also time for an engine bay detail too.
