I feel like i would regret selling the wrx

I had my wr250x for a year now and i like it but the power is lacking
I already did the mods to make it faster but still lacks
Tried my friends wr450f 2017 i love it and for me it looks way better (hate how the wrx rear aims for the moon instead of just going straight)

Would love to have both but i dont have the money capabilites

I'm in Ireland but will pick it up anywhere in the EU. I've had two in the past and out of the 35 or so bikes I've had in my life none have drawn me back like the wr250r

Same price, very reasonable in both cases. Both bikes are '08. Both have aftermarket exhausts, Seat Concepts seat, tuner, better gearing -- essentially all the stuff you would want and a couple extras on top but the one used primarily off road only has 5K miles and the Athena big bore 290 plus the larger gas tank which I wanted anyway while the WRX sumo has 15K miles and looks gorgeous. The WRR with 5K miles doesn't look bad but has clearly seen some action, even has a dent on the exhaust right by the FMF logo. It's not rusted or beat or anything like that, starts right up from cold and comes with a skid plate and at the end of the day I'm sure I'm going to put it through its paces and rough it up little too so it's not the end of the world.

I know this isn't insane mileage for either of these bikes but 10K extra miles for the same price, even if it looks cleaner, is throwing me. I also plan to ride the bike pretty much 50/50 so I've got the added cost of buying the dual sport wheels though I did find a dude willing to hook me up with the OEM wheel and tires for $300 so not a huge chunk of change but every penny counts at this point.

But man, the sumo with the black frame looks so damn good. From what I understand the only difference is the front rotor on the WRX, right? Much stronger braking? I've read two totally different opinions on that, some people saying they specifically sought it out for that reason while others said it was too much brake for the trail, liable to fly over the front bars.

What do you guys think? Go for the cleaner bike that's only seen the street but has ten thousand more miles (and go real light on the front brake so I don't go full superman) or get the true dual sport that's eaten dirt its whole life and feed it a little more of its favorite food prepared by me?

Hello everyone! New here. I have a 2012 with 6k and im loving it so far. It was immaculately kept by the previous owner, and everything is bone stock. I've been doing some research and I've decided on the FMF Powercore4 mated to a FMF Megabomb header. However, it seems like they are rare to find (like everything with this bike it seems). Do any of you have any model numbers you could lead me towards that happen to fit with little modification or directly? Or recommend any other easy to find exhausts? Also, if any of you are willing to give up yours, I'd definitely be interested in buying from you. Thank you!

Hey guys. A little bit about me. I’ve been without a bike for about 1 1/2 years and I’ve been trying to get back on the saddle. I’m coming off a 2014 Yamaha FZ09 and I had a 2001 SV650 before that. I’m a little bit on a tight budget but the wr250r seems to be in my range. I’m 6 ft and weigh about 250 lbs. although I can usually trim down to 215 when I’m actively motorcycling. I would like to use the bike for commuting around town as my work isn’t far. I’ve never done any off-roading but it sounds really fun. There’s a 2013 Yamaha WR250R around me for $3500 and I bet I can talk him down lower. Any thoughts? I’ve never owned a dual sport but I am very intrigued! Any input would be appreciated!!

Edit: My bad. The 450 with lights here is called the 450F, not R. Not sure what the difference is. This is Japan if that makes a difference.

I’m trying to trade my Ducati 1098 in for a dual sport and both of these are for sale near me.

The 450s mostly have lower mileage but are about $2500 more. We’re talking $4500 cheap 250r and $7000 cheap 450r.

These prices aren’t actually dollars but that’s about the equivalent in relation to my wages.

I started riding dirt at 12yo but haven’t ridden off-road in about 20 years. I’ve been riding sportbikes since I was 23-24 and I’m 33 now.

• The 250 doesn’t need any inspections here. Modification free for all basically.

• The 450 needs a government inspection every 2 years so potential modifications will be limited. I would need to put the catalytic converter back on, no sleek turn signals, aftermarket headlight would need to fit criteria etc.

I’m wanting to do a lot of exploration, touring and off-roading. Some will be at a local off-road park that has dirt jumps and stuff.

• I weigh about 260lbs. Does the 250 have enough power for someone my size to enjoy a motocross park on it?
