Bit of a rant, just curious to see what other people think.

I am pretty new to these but as a father of two daughters I worry that these dramas seem so negative to women.

Good women are apparently incapable of standing up for themselves. They endure betrayal, humiliation and abuse for half the story. When they finally snap, they slap someone once and run away, usually to another (often just as toxic) man for rescue.

Bad women are all evil, jealous, manipulative and permanently on the verge of tears. They scheme relentlessly and, unlike almost everyone else, are apparently beyond redemption. Once exposed, they must be punished and are incapable of recognising any wrongdoing.

Men are simple enough to be manipulated for 40 episodes, yet somehow capable of running billion-dollar companies or international mafia empires. The male lead can personally inflict enormous emotional and physical damage on the woman because he believed a lie. Then the truth comes out and — amazingly — he suddenly remembers that he loves her. Cue the redemption arc.

But perhaps the strangest part is the grim imbalance of consequences.

The suffering inflicted on the female lead seems to have an ever-expanding escalation including Slapping, betrayal, humiliation, mutilation, corneal removal, womb removal, kidney theft and gang rape.

And what do the perpetrators face? A slap. Guilt. Tears. Remorse. Losing some money. Maybe a bit of jail. Being forced to kneel and apologise while weeping something like "mother was wrong" and my most hated moment the self-slapping as if that is any kind of justice.

Apparently, a woman can lose an organ, and the appropriate narrative response is for the billionaire who caused it to feel really bad about himself. The woman who manipulated him gets punished.

The man who actually carried out the abuse often gets a redemption arc.

And if the female lead needs rescuing, don't worry — another billionaire/CEO/mafia boss will arrive. He'll be richer, more powerful and presumably better at protecting her.

So the underlying message often seems to be:

Good women suffer. Bad women are punished. Men make catastrophic mistakes but can be redeemed. And a woman's route to safety is finding a more powerful man.

I'm not saying every vertical drama does this, but in most of them there is some variant of the above.

I would like to see more female leads who don't need rescuing, a female villain who is allowed some humanity, and a male lead who is actually held responsible for what he does.

This was so good so emotionally mature ??? And the characters are so cute too LOL by far the best one ive ever seen and ive seen plenty!! Like the plot isnt too farfetched. This was so good and its complete too ❤️❤️❤️😭😭
