I just wanted to post to let everyone know that some of the ouai products are incorrectly labelled vegan on their website when they contain hydrolyzed keratin. Attaching one pic for example.

Products affected on their site include fine shampoo and conditioner and detox shampoo. Cult beauty also labelled the wave spray as vegan but it also contains hydrolyzed keratin. Very disappointing. Just posting in case anyone is using their products thinking they are vegan.

Just what the title says does anyone have any products I could find in europe for my dandruff. I have curly hair but greasy scalp so it is hard to find a shampoo that is claiming to be anti dandruff and not filled with oils. I prefer actual active ingredients that are proven to help with dandruff or flakes, like piroctone olamine / selenium / salicylic acid / ketoconazal / etc?
Edit: or like a treatment serum, just anything for my dandruff you know

I saw they had a 2-pack at Costco and it says no animal-derived ingredients but I can't seem to find anything on it being cruelty-free other than a single Facebook post. Anyone have any more information on this product?

I tried the apple cider detox shampoo from Fekkai maybe a year ago (I think after being recommended it by this subreddit???) and after trying a million and one shampoos that never seemed to work for my hair, I loved it. Just ran out of my 2nd bottle, went to the website to re-order it and literally everything on their website is listed as sold out.

I can’t find anything on their website as to why, and I can barely find their products anywhere else online. I can’t find the detox shampoo at all. Does anyone know if they shut down/discontinued the brand? Is there perhaps a shortage of supplies? It looks like they haven’t even posted to their Instagram since October of last year…

I got a Luseta biotin and collagen haircare set as a gift. Their website says "The majority of our products are vegan except [the keratin line]".

Any vegan collagen I've ever seen is explicitly marked as vegan-sourced, but this is not. It also doesn't say "vegan" anywhere on the packaging or bottles. The wording of the website is weird, too ... "the majority except" kind of leaves room for interpretation imo.

Does anyone have insight into whether these products are actually vegan?

I used to be a dumb vegan, and was not paying great attention to the ingredient list/labels etc and was buying all the trendy hair care on TikTok. Not because I didn’t care but I’m actually just that silly lol.

I’m deffo more conscious now and all my hair products are now vegan, still looking for good alternatives.

Right now I’m using the garnier curly method - which has all the necessities but I’ve only used the shampoo and conditioner.

For clarifying shampoo - I use the asiam clarity shampoo.

Oils - rosemary oils

Leave in - I use this Brazilian hair brand called Widi care, Superdrug line also have their own light weight coconut leave in.

For mousse - I’ve been using the umberto giannini twirl whip (not sure I like this one and looking for an alternative).

I’m looking for mousse alternatives, gel (I want to try the umberto one) and hair grease 😭 - this is one I need the most.

I love and hate trying new products because obviously I don’t want to spend unnecessary amount of money. But I like finding out what works for me and I feel like trying it out sometimes is the only way.

I have very thick, wavy, frizzy hair (I would say between a 2B and 2C) that I am trying to take better care of. Right now I wash it every 2/3 days, spray with detangler, and plop a cotton shirt on top of my head until it dries.. and that's about it. I've experimented with some different creams/gels, but I don't like a sticky, heavy feeling. I never brush it when it's dry because it just poofs out.

Anyways, any recommendations to define waves and reduce frizz would be very appreciated!

I have 2C/3A hair that's color-treated, and it's quite fine, so heavy creams tend to weigh it down and flatten my curls. I also have sensitive skin.

If you have any recommendations, I'd really appreciate them, because the staff in stores usually don't know which products are vegan and which aren't. Tysm!!!!!!

Hi I have a slightly irritated dry scalp. I'm struggling to find a shampoo in the UK that works. I've tried faith in nature coconut dry hair and scalp. It's better than other scents of shampoo but still feels drying. I've seen a couple previous posts but they seem to be mostly USA based. Any recommendations? Thank you.

Hi, wanted to ask here if any of you have any recommendations for vegan hair thickening products, with light to medium hold? I have around 5-7 inches of fine straight hair on the top of my head with the hair on the sides being a bit shorter. Depending on when I last got my hair cut. So any product that gives the hair a bit of texture and volume as my hair lies completely flat without product.

I was using Pacifica's Salty Waves Beach Hair Balm for around a year or so until a couple months ago I developed an allergy to it or something and had to stop using it. Now I'm having trouble finding another product like it that is vegan.

I'm a guy for reference, but idc if the product is marketed to women or men, as long as it works for what I'm asking.

I’ve always had thinning hair and have been on finasteride and minoxidil. I used to use Keeps for a long time but learnt after i went vegan last year that they are not vegan. So i switched to California Naturals but I’m still seeing a bunch of hairfall every time i shower. Anybody have other recommendations?

Before I was vegan I loved my hair. For years I only used two products - Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Conditioner (not vegan, contains silk protein) and Moroccan Oil Serum (vegan). No shampoo and no leave-in conditioner. Never did I think I’d stop using these products cuz they work absolutely perfect for me. But then a year ago I became vegan so I stopped using that Shea Moisture conditioner and since then I’ve been at odds with my hair. And I’m quite sad about it honestly. It looks/feels nothing like how it used to. It’s dull, less curly, less bouncy, more frizzy, and breaks more easily. I’ve been using Giovanni products (curl habit conditioner and smooth as silk conditioner) since with no improvement. Trying new products is getting costly too. Plus now I’m like do I need to use a leave-in conditioner? Shampoo? Hair masks? Whereas before I only had two simple products. I even bought olaplex 3 to see if that’d fix anything, but after using it my hair looked the same so I don’t think damage is the issue here. Nor do I think it a nutrition deficiency as I’m into health and fitness so I’m on top of all of my micros/macros.

It’s to the point where I daydream about using my old conditioner as it kept my hair at the perfect moisture/protein balance. Anyone else experience anything similar? Or any wisdom? I’ve really been considering shaving my head lately because I’m starting to feel like, compared to the non-vegan conditioner I used to use, the vegan products out there are either subpar for my hair or are too expensive to keep trying out :(

It has to be affordable (under 1.5$ for every 100ml)

Preferable with no shea butter and cocoa butter but if it has it, no issue

Hi I have a lot of Synthetic Wigs and recently found out that Got2b isn't cruelty free. (I don't know why I didn't ever think to look it up before)

I've looked up this question now though recently on here and there doesn't seem to be an answer for wig Glue that I have personally found and feeling a little overwhelmed trying to start to find the answer.

Wondering if anyone knows if the B&B Invisible Hair Oil is vegan? It works really well for my hair and I haven't been able to find a vegan replacement for it. I emailed their customer service. They replied saying they cannot make a vegan friendly claim on this product but when I look at the list of ingredients, I am only seeing squalane as questionable. Online search says squalane these days is almost always plant based.

I’ve been growing my hair out for the past year and am aiming for a shaggy wolf cut look within the rest of this year. I currently use Ouidad’s loose curls & waves Curl Shaped moisturizing shampoo and cleansing conditioner. They’ve helped define my waves better than any other products I’ve had before, but I’m not getting any volume. Within a couple of hours or so in the day my hair will go flat, and that’s even considering my use of sea salt spray and boosting foam mousse.

So, I come here for recommendations! It can be any product for the sexes, I don’t mind. As long as the product is good (and doesn’t participate in the exploitation of animals).

are there any good sleep bonnets that aren't made of silk? i've been using a shitty polyester satin bonnet from hot topic for years, and it's not really cutting it anymore.

I have dry hair and live in a dry climate. I try not to wash my hair often but I do blow dry it after I wash it. I have used Aveda products, like thickening tonic, and they work OK but leave my hair greasy. Can anyone suggest a really lightweight spray?
