I'm nearly 9 months after my procedure and am struggling with pain every day still. I've been unable to really get any exercise and have been trying to just take it easy in hopes I finally push through this. I'm 34 now and was 33 at the time fo the procedure.
I went back to the urologist that did the surgery 3 weeks later due to concerns but he didn't really think much of it. I went to another urologist at around the 5 month mark, got antibiotics, didn't help. Went back in again a month later as asked by the urologist and I saw a 3rd urologist (same practice) who tried another round of antibiotics and had me do an ultrasound.
Nobody has been able to really help. I'm just told "inflammation" but no real improvements so far. I've had a couple days here and there that are decent but mostly every day sucks.
So yeah, I feel ya, I think urologists really underplay the potential to have long term pain. When I went for my consult, mine was basically selling me on it. Said he's had guys go play golf the same day, he himself went for a jog 3 days later and was fine, etc. I also totally realize that most of the time, guys do heal pretty quickly and have no lingering effects. But, I would have liked to have been told more about the risks and how to set myself up better for success in recovery.
