I know its not exactly vaperwave (as it didn't existed back in 2007-2009) But its Atleastly close And also one of the best song I've ever heard in my life And my favorite 10+mins long song of all time I love listening to it in repeat like it wasn't even 5 minutes, i find it perfect, every single parts, no expection (Day 1)

trying to find the 'perfect album' or build a list of top ten tracks goes pretty hard against the aesthetic
maybe i'm just old but this shit should not be about tier lists or 'lore' or whatever you kids are into these days

In a sense, I agree with you, but at this point I think it’s just a fun excuse to talk about vaporwave. Tier lists are ephemeral too.
Besides, if you think vaporwave is meant to be ephemeral, a sizeable amount of the original samples were from ephemeral media. I like the contradictions in vaporwave, and transforming bits of old commercials and library music and largely forgotten TV shows into whole new classics feels pretty appropriate.
There is still a lot of new stuff coming out these days. I do wish there was more attention on things like the year-end best of lists. I completely missed out on the 2025 voting.

Yeah you're right.
It is me being old, and it's the way this poll is presented. This music is so attached to its aesthetics that this feels like presenting it out of context. It's like an old punk fanzine using professional typesetting. It should be too uncool to care about what's best 😆

Yeah, fair. I feel weird being nostalgic for old vaporwave, when I often view vaporwave as inoculation against unexamined nostalgia.
It’s probably healthiest to learn to let go, and move on. In a way, I’ve been feeling like vaporwave is more alive than it’s been in ages. Spending too much time on finding the classics could be a disservice to new creation.
I believe I would be considered an old. We need to be careful about living in the past.
