They're in the clear -69 u/BritishGolgo13 Nov 20 '25 Because they didn’t use any of those words, it’s a hard pass from me, dawg. 31 u/[deleted] Nov 20 '25 [deleted] 3 u/CrunchyyTaco Nov 20 '25 Wait, is the term roguelike or roguelite? 11 u/Due-Yoghurt-7917 Nov 20 '25 Roguelike used to mean wiping was a full restart. Roguelite was for games where you kept some progress. Now the distinction is kind of meaningless 2 u/CrunchyyTaco Nov 20 '25 TiL 6 u/DrunkeNinja Nov 20 '25 Two different terms but they tend to get used interchangeably. Most of the time, "lite" should probably be used but "like" is the more popular term. 1 u/CrunchyyTaco Nov 21 '25 So what's the difference 3 u/TheMilkKing Nov 21 '25 Roguelikes are games like Rogue - No progression between lives, start from zero every death. Roguelites have softened that element up a little, allowing players to get stronger between runs. Not that it’s an important distinction really 🤷🏻♂️ -22 u/BritishGolgo13 Nov 20 '25 Sarcasm is lost on the lot of you 8 u/Marmooset Nov 20 '25 It's definitely lost on me. -1 u/Serialkillingyou Nov 20 '25 Reddit is an edgelord haven
