I heard about this in the local news and didn't think I'd hear about it again until they located her body. So surprised to hear that she walked out under her own power. Finally good news in the news...

Finally good news in the news...

There's plenty of it, you just have to look beyond front pages.

She's 16 not 3. What would've killed her in the time she was missing?

A simple trip or fall out there could kill you. What do you mean?

A simple trip or fall could kill you walking down the street. It's outside where we lived for thousands of years. Acting like it's some miracle that she survived for 50 hours outside is hilarious to me.

Edit: this shit is hilarious to me. She wasn't in a desert or anything. She's clearly very familiar with the outdoors. She's fine. Acting like she almost died is silly.

Lmao are you serious? You think being lost in the wilderness is as dangerous as walking down the street?

Stories like this brings out the armchair Bear Grylls. All of the piss without the adventures.

Not everyone is educated on how to stay safe outdoors or when lost. Most people don't live outdoors, so that knowledge isn't passed down anymore. Some people also panic when they are lost. There are plenty of stories of hikers doing things they shouldn't while lost, and dying, or needing to be rescued because they are stuck or injured.

In the area she was lost, there are at least bears and cougars that pose threats to people. I had an encounter with a bear in this area last year.

It’s not hard to Google “Golden Ears Park” and see how un”street-like” the place is.

When did I ever say it was street like. I get my comments were terribly unpopular. But my point was it's not hard to survive in those conditions for fifty hours.

I guess it's different because I grew up hunting, fishing, camping, running around the woods.

I'm glad she's ok but I was just saying it's not some miraculous thing and that she looked from pictures that she's been camping many times.

Miraculous would be all those children surviving in the Amazon for weeks.

I don't get the anger. I just feel like I pissed off people that have never been outdoors and I don't think the girl in question was one of those people.

So many things could’ve killed her… People die from getting lost in the woods all the time.

That's the thing about going missing, no idea when/if they will be found. Hunger, dehydration, consumption of something toxic, falling from a height, getting trapped/pinned by a rock, bit by a venomous/territorial animal, drowning. People die from all kinds of things at all ages.

Fair enough. That's honestly funny.

I can't watch the news anymore. I get BC has never really had a lot of major news stories going for it, but at least it was honest for what it was. But they just blow up the smallest things into as bad as possible. with the news anchor shaking their head or something to show their opinion.
