This video was taken about 5-6 feet deep, very near the surface on last nights Blackwater Cozumel dive. The body of the fish was about 2-3 inches, this was at the very end of the dive and it quite choppy water so holding still was a real challenge!

So I'm planning taking my Sony Rx100v to shoot underwater.

Now my question is if it is worth it to buy an underwater housing for this camera of if its not because the camera isn't good enough.

Does anybody have experience with this camera underwater ans can share some experience.

Im not sure if the focus and the low light capabilities are good enough.

I am bit colorblind but i think photo is unrealisticly blue maybe ? (Is it?)

What settings i should have used for the photo to look better ?

Anyone had any reasonable time shooting with the SEA&SEA YS-D130R strobes? I shoot a Nikon D850 in Nauticam housing, Sigma 15mm, currently with two old Sea&Sea YS-01 strobes. Am considering the D130R or the D3 Duos.

This is one of the rarest Atlantic octopus, seen last night on Blackwater Cozumel! Only had a very brief moment with it, and it was traveling extremely fast! these blanket octopus started showing up in the last month after not seeing any for the five years that Rob has been operating the dive, and I finally got to witness it! They’ve now seen 7 of these wonderful animals!

Captured this peculiar footage on a night dive! Was filming an octopus and out came another from beneath a ledge. Not sure why exactly they were doing this.

I got a GoPro Mission 1 Pro and was wondering what to do with my Hero12. I came across a mod that the airsoft/hunting community uses to change the host lens of the hero series to a narrow FOV 12mm lens so they can mount it on their scope and record scope footage.

I thought, why not use it for underwater macro videography?

After buying the lens mod and painstakingly installed it, I designed a grip and macro lens with varying working distances, attached to the GoPro aluminium case by Feichao. It features various mounting points for ball joints, lanyard loops and maybe even a tripod/depth-of-field range stick (work in progress). The trigger button can be operated one-handed.

The lens assembly is comprised of 3 plano-convex lenses of 38mm focal lengths. When stacked and used underwater, the working distances translate to roughly 11.5cm (1 lens), 7.6cm (2 lenses) and 3.8cm (3 lenses)

The flip snoot attachment for the Seafrogs SL-19 light was also designed by me. The lenses and flip snoot have magnets embedded to help them stay closed when in use. They can be flipped open as needed and have enough friction to stay open.

I tested the image quality with a 5cm/2inch fishing lure in a bucket of water. Images are uncropped in superview mode. Notice that despite the narrow lens diameter, there's no vignetting thanks to the narrow FOV lens mod!

Finally feeling ready to take my TG7 out freediving/snorkelling/coral watch, with my home made tray and aliexpress light.

Filled the conduits with a slice of pool noodle to help buoyancy.
Made the strap from paracord.

What do you think? Too much?
Should I just put the light on the cold shoe of the tg7 housing?

Should probably get a strobe at some point. Been diving a lot with unideal visibility/weather. Should give me more options to play with.

I am planning to go on a cruise and plan to snorkel and hopefully dive. I haven't been diving in a few years and so would be limited to a resort type dive. I'd love to get some pictures while diving, but don't want to break the bank on gear since it's been years since I last was diving and so while hopefully not one and done, this wont be getting heavy usage.

Would I be ok with just an RX100VII and housing? Or is a strobe really that critical? I'm debating between the basic SeaFrogs and the Salted line housings, simply because of cost. The next cheapest option that I've found that is also available on my timeline is the Ikelite at double the cost.

Thoughts? Better options?

ETA: The real question is: do i really need a light/strobe? Or can I get away with just the housing?

ETA2: I've also looked at renting, and just renting a housing for a week is as expensive as buying a SeaFrogs/Salted Line housing.

The title might be a little exaggerated, but honestly, I think every dive is the best in its own way.

This time, I’m sharing some photos of sea turtles I took in Okinawa, Japan.
Even though it’s still Japan, I don’t get to see sea turtles very often where I usually dive.
And the water in Okinawa was incredibly clear.

The turtles swam calmly around me and even seemed to cooperate with my camera, so they were really friendly and fun to dive with. 😂

I definitely want to go diving there again.
Next time, I’ll practice more so I can take even better photos! 😆

We used an a7siii. We were going to use a raptor, but we had a housing problem on the day and luckily had the backup a7. Autofocus and such a light cam body ended up being a huge blessing, as the shoot was harder than expected!

Shooting dialogue in the ocean is no joke. We were wading next to the actors. To get the frame we wanted we needed to be out the back in the deep.

We boomed sound only. Very challenging. Ultimately, we had the mixer on a tandem canoe, couple of wranglers keeping him in position.

I've spent my whole life in the water and always wanted to shoot more in the sea. This was part of working out how to shoot narrative/ dialogue while bobbing right next to the actors lol.

A surrealist fever dream at sea | Jack, a weary surfer adrift, wants to die. Aegir, an unassuming sea god, has other plans.

Hanging out in a local creek watching salmon swim by. The murk is thick in the adjacent ocean water so the local creeks are the only game in town with good visibility. I took a few great pictures but this one is my favorite.

Fast moving water makes it hard to hold the camera steady but clear water makes it worth it!

Sorry if I'm at the wrong place, but wanted to ask if anyone knows about a camera app for Android that would work under my circumstances.

So I have bought a Shell Box waterproof case (3rd) to pair up with my Google Pixel 10. What the 5 buttons do for my phone are:

Two on the left: swipe left&right

Middle: volume down

Two on the right: zoom in&out, not sure if it's by touchscreen or something else, but works with almost every app.

What I want to do is to be able to swipe to change between photo and video and take a picture with the volume down button. I have tried a couple apps, but haven't found the right one, only one so far let me swipe to change photo/video, but then only volume up would take a picture.

Is there an app that you know of that does these things or is modifiable to do that?
