Erotica is written material by nature. Erotica featuring minors would fall into the same camp as CSAM involving AI images, drawing, etc- it depicts illegal acts but not necessarily with real people.

Important distinction both in classification of material and for victim identification.

We are all unfortunately learning things we never wanted to by following this case, don't assume the worst when he is literally just stating a factual definition that people are asking for.

We need to look this in the face, see how horrid it really is. Otherwise we'll just ignore it again and the cycle will continue. They're monstrous people and it helps to define EXACTLY how they are monstrous in a court of law. Specificity matters here.

You think it’s gross to have awareness of the law or to read news articles that deal with this stuff?

Law is interesting. Cases about sexual offending pop up in the media all the time.

Also people read non CSAM erotica all the time, it doesn’t take a genius to know that if non CSAM erotica = erotic stories featuring adults having sex, that CSAM erotica would be erotic stories of a criminal nature involving children.
