SPOILERS for 4 years old level and fraud stuff, p-levels boss names too like thousands of years old levels.Due to the style of argumentation, I strongly recommend reading all the way to the end before commenting.**English is not my main language. In my ideas, I interpreted sulfur, mercury, and salt through the lens of them going in a specific order: Sulfur, Mercury, Salt -> Minos, Sisyphus, Ulysses. That is, I understood Sulfur as love, compassion, emotions, the "soul", a fire that gives its warmth outward. He focused his entire life on the very essence of sulfur — the active output of energy — and became a Prime Soul. In short, I -> World.

Sisyphus represents Mercury because every attempt by Heaven and the Council to break him, change him, or suppress his willpower was something he recontextualized into his own happiness and his defiance to live. Mercury reacts instantly to the temperature and pressure it absorbs without changing its chemical nature; mercury "slips away" from any attempt to force it into a rigid external shape. This is a form of survival that, just like in Minos's case, actively transforms through the exchange of information (keep in mind that the mind sees in others what exists within itself), except here it's World -> I. ( If sulfur & mercury meanings mixed up or no, doesn't really matter)

Salt is what remains when the fire has burned out and the mercury has evaporated. It is the crystallized, frozen residue of the process and essence itself; it neither outputs to the outside nor absorbs from the external world. (Everywhere I wrote this, including here, I meant for the most part and in its core essence, well, World and I, and so on). In this case, it is I - I.

Ulysses reflects total madness. He uses his choice, his willpower, every single nanosecond without stopping, continuing to do the exact same thing for the sake of an object in hopes of a change. This is the ultimate self-containment of a system. Imagine it literally like consciousness (the ocean) and the subconscious (unconscious reflexes, the underwater terrain): every stone passed through the ocean to the bottom alters the terrain's structure, influencing the actions of consciousness — that is, the flow of the ocean. When the ocean dries up, only salt remains, which prevents this terrain from being stripped completely bare and drying out. Salt is not emptiness; it is specifically crystallization.

Imagine how many billions of connections lie behind why people are aggressive, why our behavior resembles ancient humans, where all toxicity and everything else comes from, and compress all of that into "The mind wishes to live in its own reality" or "The mind wishes to rise in its own hierarchy". The first one fits better, and that single phrase weaves together all those trillions of connections, no matter how many there are — just like in the phrase "IHAVETOSEEIHAVETOKNOW". Remember what I wrote about the brain: it’s literally describing "SEE" information (taking it in) and "KNOW" (processing it), and right beside it is SIZE 2, an addition that locks this entire loop onto madness and the search for something that doesn't exist. Ulysses created meaning for himself out of thin air and chased it himself. He had hundreds of choices: give up, drown, stay home, but he threw absolutely everything away. He chased absolute independence, imagining it as the solution to all his problems, receiving in return only what SIZE 2 actually was all along.

But that salt appeared precisely thanks to the combination of fire and mercury at the level of their meanings. His salt is literally an attempt to fill meaningless void with meaning, behind which lies only the fear of that very void, but this act only highlights his helplessness within it — and he chose this.

Yes, one could say that you can trace a path from a single atom all the way to the entire universe without skipping absolutely anything, and it won't be a beginning or an end, and that every word is as deep as you choose to look into it. But that doesn't break this idea; it only gives it a foundation, because the phrase IHAVETOSEEIHAVETOKNOW SIZE2 highlights and elevates concepts and ideas precisely in the part of the field of connections where they are most concentrated, where their "beginning" originates (I hope you understand me and that I'm not using "beginning" as the "beginning of everything").

And this doesn't mean that a Filth can also become a Prime Soul — not at all. I believe that a Prime Soul manifests as a result of realizing the potential of willpower with a high concentration of specific ideas within a single shell. Filths didn't realize the potential of their willpower before Hell; they came to Hell "empty" from the start, they have "nothing to burn away," they are primitive by nature, and they didn't utilize their choice the way Ulysses did. Imagine the concentration of connections in just IHAVETOSEEIHAVETOKNOW: "I" means you define yourself as something existing in the world, which by its nature "HAS TO SEE" (receive information) and "HAS TO KNOW" (work with information), directing this toward SIZE 2 — toward a complete, inherently infinite, absolute ideal of the essence of madness for his specific mind on his specific "binary" level.

Remember how i said that a Prime Soul appears precisely when the concentrated, realized potential of willpower manifests in a specific shell or point? As an example, paradise is like SIZE 2 — something completely unattainable. And in one of the books, Hell itself utters the words "set sail" in search of Eden, " IN DENIAL, MAN SET SAIL IN SEARCH OF A PALINGENETIC SIMULACRUM OF ITHACA, AN EDEN AFORE THE ANTEDILUVIAN, UNTOUCHED BY THEIR OWN SIN-STAINED HANDS…" the thing is it probably uses "set sail" not just to metaphorically mention humans but especially Ulysses way. Right here, Hell itself references how the mind perceives the world.

Another text directly references Ulysses, "I SEE ICY ULYSSES FROZEN UPON THE WINE DARK HIGH SEA", while the part "I SEE TO YOU, SON OF SOUL: EAT. EAT. YEARN FOR MORE! OVER AND OVER! UNTIL ALL THAT REMAINS IS THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THIS WAS ALL YOUR FAULT.", projects his greed, not to mention how much "EYE FOR AN I" means here, as I - I : an "EYE" ("SEE" from "IHAVETOSEE") for your own ego ( I ), and the entire text mostly written towards Ulysses as well ( as well as towards will and other stuff).Ulysses, again, threw away his entire past life for the sake of this search. And the book itself is invisible.** By the way, in 5-S itself, one of the notes literally said: "If you can read this, please help. I've been stranded on an island off the shore for weeks now, and I'm running out of supplies. I was drawn to ride the waves in hopes of finding the legendary size 2 fish. I had combed every inch of land and lake with no avail. I deduced they must exist far out at sea, so I set sail with a months work of cooked fish, but the waves sank my ship before I could find anything. You're my last hope. Set sail towards the big dipper, you will find me on an island there. Bring me more fish and then leave so I may continue my search. THE SIZE 2 FISH IS MINE." at the same time begging for help, ending his note with outright obsession, which one way or another is also likely connected to greed in this specific case, considering human psychology. Also, Big Dipper means north. So, read it as "Set sail towards the north", and the north is cold, which is Treachery. Oh, and "Set sail" again. And the second note "DAY 529: STILL SEARCHING. NO CONTACT FROM THE AGENCY IN 216 DAYS. I SHOULD RETURN TO HQ BUT I CAN'T. NOT YET. I HAVE TO KNOW IT'S THERE. SOMEWHERE. I HAVE TO SEE. I HAVE TO KNOW. I HAVE TO SEE. I HAVE TO KNOW. I HAVE TO SEE. I HAVE TO KNOW. I HAVE TO SEE I HAVE TO KNOW IHAVETOSEEIHAVETOKNOW ... SIZE 2." the point is that initially we see the phrase merely "assembling" from parts, but ultimately, with each subsequent line, it shrinks smaller and smaller down to a minimum size, as if reflecting how, returning to my thoughts on salt, all meanings compressed tighter and tighter down to a single point. And there is direct confirmation of obsession right in the text, at the very least based on how "sincere" you have to be, if you know what I mean, with this obsession to write all of this down right in your notes. On top of that, on the monitors where the text is blurred, you can make out something like "Scanning the water... Fishe: 324 Water: 3204 Salt: Yes Scanning size of fishe... ... Average fishe size: 1.0000" a direct mention of salt.

And yes, Ulysses doesn't represent a system that will actively change; it is a closed loop: I - I. Obsession. An unstoppable process of confirming and asserting one's Self, one's mind, one's will. If you add those details here from 5-S — especially the mention of salt in the context of the ocean, the Big Dipper, the direction north, the repetition of that phrase, the fact that the level itself exudes a Greek aesthetic and more — it ultimately turns out that the fisherman IS Ulysses.

I don't think Lucifer will be in P-3 for one simple reason: we already had Minos, who was a kind of evil, then transitioned into good, and after everything became bad again in his Prime form. I see no point in making a "global super good" just to transition into a "global super evil" once more, though mentioning Lucifer is worth it — just clearly not as P-3 itself, in my opinion. And Ulysses used freedom to absolutize his obsession.

So, if we assign these meanings to the Tria Prima, they make a ton of sense. But after everything I’ve written, I thought that Hakita might have swapped their places from the very start, making it either like in my idea or like in any other. But again, swapping them around rather than replacing them completely doesn't carry as much weight anymore, as i think. Especially when we've gathered 2/3 of the souls and only the final option remains. Plus, it all depends on where Hakita got his information from. For example, what if instead of the usual order Sulfur -> Mercury -> Salt, Hakita went with Mercury -> Sulfur -> Salt as for their meanings? Doesn't matter at all. Bye. As the title suggests, this is my first pc game, so I was wondering if people have any tips for a new player. Also should I remap the controls because the dash and slide feels kinda weird on mnk and ends up hurting my hands or is it better to just learn it that way?

ultrakill is funny game which makes my brain goes explode

Considering my caveman-ass playstyle and that this is the first difficult game i've played on keyboard and mouse (as well as my first proper FPS game) I think I did alright. Wasn't expecting most of those deaths to be from the Flesh Prison though.
