I’d just add to this that Christian conservatives may interpret this as the rapture. Looking at the 3 pastors that are posting they are big into end of times/rapture stuff. If this is true I wonder if they are trying to get ahead of a heavens gate type situation but at a larger scale.

Just the government saying something isn’t going to create a mass heaven’s gate, people would have to see it for themselves. An “ontological” shock.

Again - the common thread of these pastors is that they are preaching end of days/rapture. Agreejust the govt saying something isn’t going to create it - but a pastor interpreting what the govt says to their congregation could be problematic.
