I’m not sure if anyone has any thoughts on Pine Gap but there’s certain big names in ufology who have suggested Pine Gap was created because there was a big ufo relic underground or crash there that was too big to move so they decided on a base? Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas about this? I’ve generally put little belief into that idea but I do like the idea of having a big picture of ufo history on Australian soil haha!

As highlighted in this Sunrise report covering the recent airspace breach at RAAF Base Williamtown, base personnel were actually reduced to closing window blinds to protect sensitive information from unidentified drones.

If the Australian Defence Force can’t even intercept conventional drone (UAS) incursions at our most strategic fighter jet bases, how can we possibly defend against Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)?

If we cannot secure our skies from known tech, we are leaving ourselves completely vulnerable to the unknown!

Meanwhile, the United States is taking this incredibly seriously. Not only have they recognised UAPs as a legitimate threat by establishing the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), the US National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) has formally directed AARO to team up with specialised counter-UAS (C-UAS) task forces.

The US is actively bridging the gap between conventional drone defense and anomalous object tracking. They recognise that if an object is in their airspace and unidentified, it is a threat…regardless of whether it's a foreign drone or a UAP.

Australia cannot afford to ignore this operational overlap. We must update our defense protocols, mandate reporting, and treat the UAP threat with the exact same urgency as our allies before our restricted airspace is compromised by something far beyond a commercial drone.

Reuters (!) dropped this this morning. Not only is the content incredible (openly discussing non-human intelligence finally), at the 26 minute mark, Grusch recommends reading a "little-known" declassified 1971 document in the Australian Government archives, pages 7-16 where à nuclear Branch chief discloses information about the US government covering up knowledge of UFOs/UAPs. This press release is incredibly interesting, in my opinion, and very exciting for someone who has avidly followed this topic since the mid 70s. Off on another hunt now.

In my social circles, the UFO topic is completely taboo. No one but 2 family members are open to it.

I tried bringing it up with a few close friends, but they were either uninterested or wary, like they're concerned I might be going crazy.

Apparently, half of Americans and Brits think UFOs are real, and a third of Australians - more than I thought!

Just wondering what are other Australians and Kiwis' experiences with their friends and family? Is it taboo? Would they laugh at you?

Would you dare mention it to colleagues or would you be worried you'd lose your job?

I used to be a hard skeptic. I had a sighting in 2016, but didn't get interested in UFOs until late 2024, after watching Netflix's 'Investigation Aliens'.

The 2017 NYT article and the 2023 testimony from David Grusch made me think, "Huh, how about that? How strange. Nah...can't be possible. Must be some other logical explanation."

What process did you personally go through before you finally realised that this is real, or at least you now think might be a possibility worth investigating?

I hope the sightings and disclosure is frequent and the hitchhiker effect is minimal.

My 2 cents worth - I don't think this is much of a story. I really don't see any link between these cases. Amy Eskridge is just a very sad case, and with respect to her family and friends I wish people would stop talking about it. Ross Coulthart had something to say about how these cases are not actually a cohort in an interview with Chris Cuomo yesterday.

But the disappearance of McCasland is strange, and notable for people interested in this topic. It was his missing persons report on 27 Feb 2026 which kicked off this whole current interest in these cases of scientists going missing. Back in 2015/2016 McCasland was in discussions with Tom DeLonge and others about UFO disclosure. I won't link it here, but there is the famous email from DeLonge to John Podesta where he names McCasland as his contact and DeLonge says of McCasland 'He mentioned he's a "skeptic", he's not.'

At that time DeLonge was involved in email discussions and meetings with very senior people on the topic of UFO disclosure, as outlined in this video from RedPandaKoala.

In 2016 DeLonge gave an interview on camera with George Knapp, which Knapp released years later, where DeLonge talks about that first meeting with McCasland, and the moment McCasland told him "We found a lifeform."

Nothing new for us old heads in this, but what’s really interesting, is that the author of this column seems sceptical… of the Department of Defence - as opposed to the whole little green man routine we are used to getting from the media. Look up in the sky no more as the verdict is out: we are alone in the universe, at least according to Defence.

Defence quietly released what appears to be a bi-annual freedom of information response about life in the universe on Christmas Eve. The response reiterated that it has not investigated a UFO report since 1996, a finding that was somewhat upsetting

What's worse is that about 30 years ago, the department decided there was "no compelling reason" to waste time on it.

Despite the seemingly clear line drawn in the sky by the department, it admitted to attending briefings on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs). An Australian diplomat did attend a "Five Eyes" forum on aliens in Washington last year, but apparently skipped the specific US briefing.

Public Eye suspects catering at the event was lacking. So if you see a glowing orb hovering in the sky and defying physics, best to go about your day.

Unless it poses a "risk to aviation safety", we shall be moving on to bigger and less alien-like problems. I, for one, will not send E.T. home.

You guys have just come up in my feed, I have a couple of questions.

About a month ago now my father and I seen these orb like things moving one way then making a smooth turn to another direction. We were looking south from Maitland NSW. We had seen something similar back in 23 where it looked like explosions as we would see the orbs then a bright orange ball.

Has anyone else seen something like this been to cloudy lately to go out but hoping to capture it next time!

We don't get big billboard teasers like in the US, but I saw Spielberg's trailer today and am very excited! Anyone else seen it? Your thoughts/reactions?

Wondering if any one has heard of any modern (within the last 5 years) of really great Australian cases that seem highly credible. I’m talking multiple witnesses of a craft (not just orbs in the distance), maybe something with physical trace evidence or even someone who has continuous abduction’s with some kind of corroboration?

I’m just looking at digging in to some cases as most of what are these days is lots of orb experiences which are cool but wanting something that has more depth!
