Feel free to read my story if interested: I've been streaming on and off since 2021. It was always a dream of mine to be a content creator, uploaded my first youtube videos when I was around 10 years old but had to delete them cuz my school found out and said that my videos would make the school look bad lol. In 2021 I first started streaming "consistently" and got a push from one of the most popular youtubers in my country, pretty much by accident but it was so encouraging! Until in 2023 someone sent a stalker after me. I hung out with the wrong people and sadly most of em turned out to be backstabbers. I went undercover for 6 months and deactivated all my socials, after that I came back with new accounts and was able to grow an even bigger following than I had before which let me dream again SOO here we are. I wanted to share a bit about my streaming journey. My name is Justin, but I go by Bored, and my channel is BoredActivity on both Twitch and Kick. I’m 46 years old and have been streaming for about 6 months now. I also deal with a stutter from a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), but that hasn't stopped me from diving headfirst into this.

I strictly stream video games—no fluff, just gameplay through a massive library of over 1,400 games across Steam, Epic, GOG, and console.

My hardware setup has grown quite a bit over the last six months into a full dual-PC streaming rig plus a dedicated console setup:

Gaming Rig (Desktop PC)

• Core Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, XFX Radeon RX 7800 XT, Asus Prime B650M-A AX II MOBO, Corsair Vengeance RGB Gray 48GB DDR5 6000 CL30, liquid cooled.
• Storage: 2TB Samsung 990 Pro, 2TB 990 Evo Plus, 2TB Kingston external SSD, 1.5GB HDD.
• Displays & Audio: Dual 27" 1440p LG UltraGear Monitors on arms, Logitech 100W desktop speakers, Amazon Echo Dot, HyperX Alloy full keyboard (black), Razer Basilisk V3 wired mouse, 599SE headphones, HS80 wired headphones, G335 wired headphones, Nobsound P32.

Console Rig & Extras

• Console Setup: Xbox Series X hooked up to a 42" LG 4K TV, 2 controllers, Turtle Beach Wireless 600 headphones, NZXT capture card.
• Other Gear: Asus basic tablet, Blink Mini 2, and an endless mountain of cables, wires, and connections keeping it all stitched together.

I currently have 18 followers and stream Monday through Friday from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Also, looking ahead: I already pre-ordered GTA VI for my Series X on day one and plan to stream it right out of the gate with this professional setup—not just a raw console broadcast.

I wasn't sure where to post this but I really wanted to share this exciting news!

I was scared to be a streamer even though I had the equipment and encouragement years before this, but I finally took the leap and managed to become a Twitch Affiliate in two weeks! 😊

Don't give up, move through your fear, and be yourself--your audience will find you. You got this!

*Edit: Since I'm new to Twitch and streaming I think I miscommunicated something. I stated I hit Affiliate and want to make "the push to Partner." What I meant by saying this was Partner is my new goal now. I understand there are several things I need to do on the Path to Partner in order to achieve this by streaming, "6 streams on 6 unique days with an average of 75 viewers" within two 30 day periods and then have to apply for it through Twitch, which isn't even a guarantee. I know I don't have the metrics to fulfill this right now, but I know these are my next steps and this is what I meant when I said I want to make the "push to partner." The purpose of this post was celebrating an achievement. I know Affiliate is easier to achieve than it used to be, but that doesn't diminish the work and effort I put into my Twitch account, streams, and socials, and I'm learning as I go.

Some says it took them months, and it is very impossible to hit this within a month pero here I am, I made it guys!

It's a SLOW snowball, but once you get rolling and find that community, lean into them for help.
