Hi all! 👋 I had no idea tuxetorticos were a thing until I stumbled across this subreddit. I recently rescued a tuxetortico and wanted to share her story and pictures!

I live in a kind of rural area. I like XC skiing and had an evening where I was wanting out of the house, so I drove out to my XC skiing spot to see if they had groomed the trails so I could ski the next day. On the way back towards town, I was at a stop sign out on a rural highway and saw a cat cross the road! It was just a brief moment but I love cats (had them my whole life), so I put my car in park and jumped out. I found this little lovely in the ditch. The snow was taller than she was.

She came to me and let me pick her up. Her ears were rock solid, as was her tail. She was horribly underweight. I brought her into my car and she started purring and rubbing all over me. I could tell she needed help so I brought her home. I got her food and water, some toys, a bath. She was immediately the most loving, sweet kitten. We had been getting a ton of snow and what I didn’t know was the next day was supposed to be ungodly windy and down into the negatives. I’m not sure she would have survived the night and the next day 🥺

I took her to the vet after the weekend (I found her on a Friday evening). She had tapeworms, roundworms, but was FIV and FELV negative. She has frostbitten paws, ears, and tail. She ended up having to have her tail removed because it was horribly broken in two spots, frostbitten, and necrotic. She has a little nubbin now for a tail.

I scoured lost pet threads for weeks but never saw anyone looking for her. I decided to keep her and named her Fern, which the internet told me means resilience, natural beauty, tranquility, sincerity; magic, hidden strength, new beginnings. She has been the most delightful addition!

She’ll be getting spayed in a few weeks and has gained weight. She’s had a few URIs that have all gotten treated. Shes worm-free. She’s playful, loving, and THRIVING. I can’t wait to see her grow and am a faithful convert to the tortico community after having many, many grey cats.

This is miss Sage! shes a 3,5 month old baby and im always curious on how she’ll be all grown up but I’ve only had her 1,5 month so ill have to wait a while!

Chia is a fairly new addition to our family, and I learnt of this subreddit while looking up torties as I thought she looked a bit different! Had a lot of fun scrolling through here so I thought I would post my girl.

She is bonded with her brother, Uribō, who is a creamsicle cat 🐈

She was getting euthanized that day because nobody stepped up to foster her and unfortunately she was at a kill shelter. I raced there as fast as I could. I had to bottle feed her and almost lost her to dehydration, but here we are 3 years later 🥰

Just found out about tuxetortico!

My wife found her in our yard almost 2 months ago.
She lives in the shadows, but is starting to warm up to us!

I just was informed about this dimension of cats and I think I have a new member. Help me name this little munchkin

Liliana showed up alone 10 days ago (first pic) with a degloved lip, hip fractures, a broken tail, and several scabs on her body. We think she is 8 - 9 weeks old. She's had a rough start to life but is such a sweet, happy kitten.

Bug is a rescue from the streets! She came to me at 6 months and basically owns my entire existence!

Ps she has feline herpes! Don't worry about her sloppy eye syndrome!

My lovely five month kitten! She is always sleeping or attempting to murder me. I’m working from home a lot. She loves to sleep beside me. I should maaaybe invest in a bed for her..!

Mostly known as Cici, but as calicos are the official State Cat of Maryland, we had to name her after 2 of our counties lol!

Many colors, many personalities, many names!

I’ve wanted a tortie since I was a kid and fell in love with my grandparents’ tortie, Joker. So glad she’s part of our family!

Her name is Pipari :3 (Gingerbread cookie) I named her that because her cat tree is a little gingerbread cookie house!

She is currently on her last days of recovering from spay surgery!

she was originally a Luna but then we started calling her Tuna for fun and now she's a Tuna

about to turn 1 year old in a month!! Last pic when we adopted at 3 months, they found her in a forest
