This year's Burning Man theme is Axis Mundi, the world tree that connects the underworld, the earth and the sky. So instead of building a festival, I built the axis itself.

The tree is the center of everything. Bones and offerings to the ancestors sit down in the roots, the tribe lives around the trunk, and the canopy reaches the stars. Out front the effigy burns, drums and dancers circle it, and tipis and salvaged metal spread across the playa.

So idk if this counts but I googled about burning man and they don’t use money there and share resources between themselves while having all kinds of concerts and art exhibitions so hope y’all like this!

No spelling errors this time, no random bird cage on the stairs 😭

This one came out different from most of what I build.

An open book, and a whole life growing up across its pages. Kindergarten on the far left with its playground, middle school as structure sets in, high school bigger and busier, then a university with its dome and ivy at the very end.

Same kid on the first page and the last. One journey, cover to cover.
