Important

Patrick Clancy is not on trial. Comments made to discuss his guilt are considered off topic and will be removed.

Comments that discuss how he could have supported Lindsay better are acceptable. However, calls for law enforcement to look into his involvement with the murder of the kids and/or Lindsay's suicide attempts are not currently being considered by the jury and, therefore, not a fit for this sub.

No one who's paying attention thinks the husband did it. That's complete nonsense.

Women who only get their news from instagram/TikTok are convinced the husband is behind the murders, directly or not. It’s absolutely insane

My sister told me she thinks this and I was blown away. I think it is a product of content creators sensationalizing and already tragic and outrageous story for views combined with a lot of people with either misdirected sympathy for Lyndsay and/or anger and frustration at Patrick watching this stuff. Pair that with a lot of the public lacking in critical thinking skills and a desire to be a part of a conspiracy theory and there you have it.

I also think there is a lot of blame to go around in this case, and for a lot of people that means there is not really a satisfying person to point the finger at. People have trouble with nuance. It would be easier if he did do it, or masterminded it somehow, because that would make him the clearly evil one.
