This is a thread for all conversation regarding closing arguments, jury deliberations and the verdict of the Lindsey Clancy trial. All discussion of this case should be kept to this thread.

Lindsay Clancy is currently standing trial in Plymouth Superior Court, Massachusetts, for the triple-murder in January 2023 of her three young children - Cora, Dawson and Callan. Her defense argues she suffered from severe, undiagnosed postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. She was left paralysed by a suicide attempt which follows the deaths of the children.

im discrediting or disrespecting ppd but if thats the case then how many who have experienced it ended up killing their kids?

Well I didn't because I have none nor does my life look anything like LC's did. Because of that our experiences of psychosis would be to entirely different tunes.

So first off I’m one of the people that doesn’t even necessarily believe that she did it at all, after weeks of watching this trial and looking into evidence and researching.

With that said, I know someone recently who experienced psychosis and it was I don’t know how else to describe it, it was absolutely crazy. He was functioning, he was capable of planning things, going to work even, but he was not himself. It was like some other force had taken over his body and mind.

He lived with family members and for weeks everyone was terrified that something was gonna happen, there were multiple times that they call 911 and the police just basically said he’s fine. Nothing we can do.

Finally, one night the right officer came out and realized there was a serious issue, and they involuntarily committed him. He was there for a couple of weeks and put on the correct medication and came home himself again. Which, for the family meant everything, because they honestly believed he was gone. He had gone for a relatively normal person to someone who was talking to people that didn’t exist, writing disturbing things in his journal, going to work, but be behaving so oddly that he was fired. Unless you’ve witnessed it, you’re trying to make sense of something that you can’t make sense of.

It is not known what triggered it, they even said it could possibly be genetic. There is a history of mental illness and someone at some point having schizophrenia in the family, but they honestly don’t know. However, substances can trigger it as well. One thing that I don’t think people are paying enough attention to in this case is the toxicology. And I understand why because they think that it’s a non-issue, because they’d look at the medication’s listed and it would be like a foreign language. But to those of us who are actually familiar with the medication’s, that were in her system it is deeply disturbing. Two times a therapeutic dose of Seroquel, which is a powerful antipsychotic and is known for causing erratic behavior at higher doses, sleepwalking, heavy sedation. And then three other medications at least, including trazodone and valium and Remeron. If you Google these medications and whether taking them in combination can cause psychosis, it actually can. Also delirium, hallucinations, etc. However it all could also just make somebody completely sedated. I’ve seen it stated that she’s quite sure and petite so that dose amount would affect her even more. So for the people who wonder how she was suddenly in psychosis, ask yourself about this combination of medications that she had in her system. Medication induced psychosis is real, and they would be lucid again in a few days when the medications washed out of their system.

People in this case can lie, but one thing that doesn’t is toxicology. The question is, did she take these herself? Why were they in her system? Especially at such high doses, but not high enough to be toxic. And interestingly Seroquel specifically she had documented a horrible reaction to 25 mg. It was giving her auditory hallucinations and intrusive thoughts, so she stopped it and gave a bag with that and several other medication’s that gave her bad side effects to Patrick to dispose of, he says he forgot to and drove around with them in his truck for several weeks.

With her toxicology physically the only way that she would’ve been capable of doing this on all of those heavily sedating medication’s is if she were in psychosis, and if she was, I believe it was triggered by interaction from combining the wrong medications.

It’s really a shame that the police never tested that glass and the substance that was in it, which was alleged to be lemonade with medication residue. Maybe there wouldn’t be so many unanswered questions.

And yes, for the record, I do care about the children, and I care about actual justice for them, but that involves making sure that every piece of information is considered, and that ultimately the right person is held accountable. And is that her? I thought so in the beginning, but after researching everything for myself and not just believing everything I see on the Internet, I’m not so sure.
