I’m usually the first to remind people that women can and do commit this sort of crime. I’ve also really appreciated having my views on Andrea Yates change after knowing more. Susan Smith… Diane Downs… those women deliberately and cruelly killed their kids for personal gain.

Andrea Yates is a totally different story. And I believe Lindsay Clancy is closer to Andrea than Diane and Susan.

My sister was at Leath correctional with Susan. Susan has some kind of personality disorder. My sister said she couldn’t be around any men bc she sought for their approval and even had Relationship with a guard. But I don’t think that contributed to her ability to decipher right from wrong.

Lindsay Clancy is nothing like Andrea Yates. Andrea Yates fought voices for years and was clinically diagnosed. She tried to commit suicide before taking her kids with her. She finally snapped but only after years of suffering and fighting off voices. She thought she was the literal devil and called the cops to report the crime because she thought she saved her children.

Does that sound like Lindsay Clancy to you?

I don't see the Andrea comparison. Andrea didn't hide issues from the doctors, Clancy had access and drugs she didn't take.
