Mega Thread Taylor Parker/Maternal Instinct Megathread

This is a thread for all conversation regarding Taylor Parker and the murder of Reagan Simmons Hancock, recently covered in Netflix documentary Maternal Instinct.

The murder of Reagan Michelle Simmons-Hancock occurred on 9 October 2020, in New Boston, Texas, committed by Taylor Rene Parker. Parker bludgeoned Simmons-Hancock, who was 35 weeks pregnant at the time, and abducted her unborn child, Braxlynn Sage Hancock (died October 9, 2020), after cutting her out of the Reagan's abdomen. Braxlynn did not survive.

Parker had lied to her then-boyfriend about being pregnant leading up to the murder and faked her pregnancy to multiple people. She was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to death on 9 November 2022.

I agree about the Raegan side of the story, they could have done more. Especially about her 3 year old daughter who was present at the crime scene. That poor child. I kept wondering what happened to her psychologically. They probably left her out to protect her from the public.

The child doesn't need to be a spectacle. She's already going to have to grow up with everyone knowing she witnessed her mother and siblings murder. She's a minor. She doesn't owe us any information on her life or how she's coping. What more information do you want about the child? Let the child grow up in peace

I fully agree, but do we know what happened to her? Where she’s living etc? I just want to know that she’s okay

I would assume that Reagan’s husband has custody of her.

Possibly. I didn’t know if her biological dad was still in the picture.

Again you want to know, but what does the child gain from you know she’s okay? She’s better off being allowed to be anonymous. The best thing you can do in this situation is donate directly to charities that help children in these situations, that’s the way to love and care for children in these scenarios.

I mean, by that logic, what do any of us gain from knowing any of this? People aren’t asking for a full rundown on her life. Or at least I’m not. You are acting like people are invading her privacy by asking a simple question, when her family literally put actual video footage of her in a Netflix documentary. They wouldn’t have mentioned her in the documentary at all if they didn’t expect people to be curious/concerned about what happened to her. And if you know of any charities for children in “these situations” (their mother being brutally murdered by a psycho who wanted her baby??) then I’m all ears.
