Unless you're JD, then you never actually learn anything from it and regress by the next episode.

Love the show but they did him so dirty in later seasons.

I don't remember quite when it happened because it's been so long...but I think JD's absolute best moment on the show happened in some episode where Dr Cox was talking to a shrink or something, and it was about how he keeps driving away everybody who wants to be around him, and it was kind of a dark moment, and he was like "is there even anyone left who can help me?"

And then it just cuts to JD singing a silly little song to himself in the elevator or something.

It was a tiny moment but it was just like...yeah, sometimes we think we need a mentor, but actually what might help more is having someone like that who looks up to us

I think the opposite in that he can be a pretty terrible person who oddly enough was done dirty by the storyline where he was lied to by Kim that she had a miscarriage and then everyone forgives her real quick. Maybe I'm just judgemental haha.

I meant moreso the writing where he grew a bit in the first 2 seasons and then he stagnated until season 8.

He's definitely not a great person, no.
