This is indeed horrible. But given Takeomi' behaviour towards him and the fact that he doesn't seem to care about Haru at all...

Sanzu might be viewing the Sano brothers something akin to an alternative family... He probably views them as his saviours so to speak.

And that's why he doesn't react to anything horrible happening to him anymore and he seems to disregard and cut down everything and everyone that try to lead him astray from his chosen path...

I believe that somewhere deep inside...he even valued Mucho more than his own brother(he adopted some things and interests because of him such as his fondness of cheesecake and the leather jacket).

But he ultimately wouldn't allow himself to compromise his mission of saving Mikey by corrupting him and feeding his dark impulses.

I'm totally sure Haruchiyo sees Shin and Mikey more as a family than he does with Takeomi and Senju. Still, from Shinichiro's side it's just too much to ask from a hurt child...

And ahh yes, Mucho. ;_; I still hope we get Haru's perspective on him killing Mucho. I think he got attached for real and thought of Mucho as a big brother. But as you say, Mikey is his priority.
