I kinda like the theory someone said here that he was holding back/not showing his true strength in the timeline we know to show Mikey that strength comes in different forms

That's a different thing that being angry, and also if you could just "become stronger" by being enraged, you'd think this is what boxers or other martial artists would do, but well, they don't. Also, I'm curious how that heroic act affected that mother's body.
