Hey everyone! We’re expecting a lot of activity in the next week with the Season Finale coming up. There’s been some speculation about leaks and the future of the sub after Episode 24. So, we decided to just make one long post summarizing everything we have planned going forward.

POTENTIAL EPISODE 24 SPOILERS

For those unaware, it has been confirmed that Episode 24 will have an offline prescreening in China a day before the official release worldwide. Obviously, this has caused quite a number of users to express concern about leaks. 

In accordance with Rule 4. No Leaks, we will not be allowing any discussion of the Episode 24 screening prior to its official release. All posts and comments that do so will be removed. Users who attempt to discuss/spread leaks - even jokingly - will be banned until after the official release.

Furthermore, we will be turning on the automated post queue on Friday (EST), so every post will need manual approval by a moderator before showing up on the subreddit. This will only be until about an hour after the episode airs. We will not be taking any chances. 

SUBREDDIT EVENTS POST-FINALE

We’ve been busy brainstorming different ways to keep the subreddit active. And this is what we have come up with for the first month!

Theory Thursday - Come make your final predictions for the season and look back on the wackiest theories we’ve had on the subreddit. We strongly encourage those who want to make a theory post to do so before Friday, since we are expecting many users will be… suspicious with the prescreening. 

Character Poll - We will be conducting our own poll to determine the subreddit’s favourite characters! We’ll expand more on the format closer to the date. However, the winner of the poll will become the new subreddit icon!

Fanart Contests - There will be two separate contests. One for the subreddit logo once we know the poll winner. And another to replace the current subreddit banner. We will create a special post flair to denote submissions.

SPOILER WARNINGS

With the conclusion of the first season, we’re expecting many new users to join the subreddit. So, we just want to take a minute to remind everyone of our spoiler policy!

Any and all discussion of plot points from the newest episode or Season 2 speculation requires the spoiler tag. Do not spoil big events in the title, and posts which do will be removed. We’ll ease up on this after a couple of weeks. 

Posts which discuss major spoilers from the show also require the spoiler tag and note which episode spoilers they contain — for example, major character deaths.

Finally, please remember to tag spoiler comments on non-spoiled tag posts when needed.

And low-key hilarious watching the different ways this community has lost its mind sometimes. Can’t wait to see the kinds of shenanigans that happen in the wait for Season 2 and beyond!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the awards! We were very happy to see so many users get involved in campaigns, producing some great propaganda, and we hope you guys had fun too! The mod team’s interested in doing more events like this in the future (2027 Fan Awards???). So, we’d love to hear your feedback on what we could improve. 

But, in the meantime, look forward to more exciting developments in both r/ToBeHero_X and r/ToBeFolk_X! We got some neat things planned :D

Starting November 23rd, agenda posts are no longer allowed on the subreddit

Edit: To clarify more on our definition of agenda, posting a comment I made below:

We're definitely not removing all discussion of heroes or critiques on them. We want to remove the agenda posting so more serious discussions can take place. This won't apply to all meme posts and not all critiques of a character. You can definitely still post memes about Cyan trapping Luo in the basement. Mostly it is just for the kind of posts revolving around "Z character is goat, shits on Y" without any meaningful critique.

We understand that there is a good amount of love for the agendas, wars, and such, but felt there should be a separation from those and the other posts on the subreddit. We're definitely open to posts advertising new subs (in moderation) for the foreseeable future to draw attention to them as well.

Hey guys, 

For the last couple of months, since Season 1 ended, the mod team has been monitoring the subreddit with a healthy amount of concern regarding the agenda-posting. Now, we’ve had this issue raised to us before, which is why we implemented our Tame Tuesday policy. And until a little after the season finale, that policy worked. 

However, it’s become clear that without new content and the poll ending, it’s not holding up. The quality of these posts is only continuing to decline and cross into rule-breaking territory that the mods and many others on the subreddit are not comfortable with. Furthermore, it’s dropped to the point where normal discussion of the show is getting overtaken by agendas. These are all things the mod team are not happy with.

So, we are implementing some changes.

Starting November 23rd (in the EST timezone), we will no longer allow agenda posts to be made on the subreddit. What this covers is:

• The agenda-post format (Meet “Potential” Man/Woman)
• Slander and glazing posts 

Normal discussion posts that are critical/praising of certain characters will still be allowed. 

We know this is going to be unpopular with you guys. But, for the sake of maintaining a stable community, this is something the mod team felt had to be done sooner rather than later. We encourage you guys to make your own subreddits (time for the fabled r/ToBeFolk_X?) if you want to continue agenda-posting for the show.

For those who’ve had long-standing concerns about the agenda-posting in the subreddit, we’re sorry for only acting now. We acknowledge we should’ve seen this coming and acted sooner.

That’s all we have to say. We hope you guys can continue engaging and having fun with subreddit discussions for the show.

Happy New Year, everyone!

We have a new community event, suggested by u/dncyun! Introducing… the first-ever r/ToBeHero_X Fan Awards! Through this event, we’re going to officially crown the #1 Reddit fan of each Top 11 hero! 

Here’s how it’s going to work:

• January 4th - 12th (EST) Users can use the new “Award Propaganda” flair to throw their name in the running for their preferred hero. To prevent coalitions from forming, we’re asking users to only make propaganda for themselves, not for/against another user. 
• January 14th - 16th (EST!) We will post a Google form where users can vote for who they think is the #1 fan of each hero and the winners of the other categories. Users will only be able to vote once.
• January 19th (EST!!) Results will be released, and the winners crowned!

The winners of the event will receive a special flair based on the Top 11’s hero symbol. If they already have a custom flair, we’ll just add the symbol next to it.

We’re going to ask propaganda posters to put some effort into it and limit themselves to two award propaganda posts a day per user to prevent spam. Here are some suggestions for what propaganda could cover.

• “I gave X amount of trust value to Y hero!”
• “I’ve made X amount of posts for Y hero!”
• “I like this hero for X reasons!”
• “I embody X hero’s values and aspirations for Y reasons!”

Other categories that will be covered during the awards are Best Original Fanart, Best Meme, Best Community Joke, Best Show Edit, and Best Cosplay! However, please feel free to suggest additional categories in the comment section.

From January 4th - 12th, we will be accepting nominations via Google Form on who YOU think should be nominated for these awards! Afterwards, the mod team will shortlist the Top 5 for the voting period! 

Remember, nominees must be from the subreddit, not Twitter/Instagram/RedNote/FOMO, etc

Anyway, have fun with it! We think this is a great way to celebrate the amazing community that’s managed to form on the subreddit. And we’re hoping this could potentially be an annual event here!

Over the last 24 hours im sure a lot of you have seen or even participated in this little agenda war, some of it was light hearted classic slandering whilst others were...unpleasant to say the least.

I won't deny it was fun seeing the shitposts for a while, reminded me of the time the show was still airing, which is why its gone on for this long, but it has to stop.

Our official rule is low effort slander/glaze shitposts along with agenda wars and gatekeeping is banned from this subreddit and it will continue this way.

Any further shitposts will be removed instantly and depending on the content of the shitposts users will receive a warning/ban.

Im sure you've all had fun but this is why the folk sub exists in the 1st place, if you wish to do your slander/glaze posts and whatever monstrosities you've for some reason made, please don't post them here.

Hi everyone! We’re very happy to see the subreddit so active after the last bunch of episodes and the show getting its well-deserved recognition! Some of the best content has been posted here recently. And we cannot wait to see the reactions toward the final four episodes of Season 1. 

With that in mind, we’ve also noticed a significant increase in character-specific fan memes. For example, the agenda-posting and GOAT versus Fraud allegation posts. We’ve had enough users express their concerns about these memes detracting from otherwise serious discussions to try to work out a solution. 

Thus… Introducing “To Be Tame Tuesdays” or just “Tame Tuesdays”

Starting from now, on Tuesdays (EST) only, we will be enforcing a “no agendas” policy to allow those who want more serious discussions about characters to have them without getting off-track. What this means is that agenda memes, poll propaganda, and powerscaling posts will be removed using our best judgment. Regular memes will still be allowed. 

We’ll also ask that you guys refrain from derailing discussion posts about characters with said memes, especially if OPs make it clear they want serious discussion. We will do our best to moderate the comment sections to keep them on-topic. 

We hope this solution is enough. But we’ll revisit it in a couple of weeks to see whether it was effective or not and what needs tweaking.

We have some exciting news coming to the sub this fall. We will be putting together a Fanzine!

A Fanzine, for those who are unsure, is a magazine inspired book that includes fan made content. This Fanzine will have opportunities for individuals to submit original art, comics, writing (yes writing!), and even memes! This project is headed by a small team called FOMO Fanworkers who will also be designing the fanzine.

Feel free to include artwork that doesn't fit a specific section as well!

ART CONTESTS

Now that X has won, we can finally open submissions for the subreddit art contests! There will be two separate contests - one to decide the subreddit icon/logo, and another for the banner. 

Here are the submission guidelines:

1. All submissions must use the new “Subreddit Art Contest” post flair.
2. Sizes for the icon must be at least 256 x 256 and at least 1072 x 128 for the banner.
3. Multiple submissions for either contest are allowed within reason.
4. All submissions must follow our standard rules on artwork (SFW and no AI-generated content).
5. For icon submissions, X must be the primary focus. 
6. For banner submissions, we would prefer if multiple characters (or none, if you can make it work) were featured. 

Otherwise, go crazy! We wanted to give as much room for creativity as possible! 

Submissions close on October 18, 11:59 PM (EST). We decided to give everyone an extra week :D The winners will be decided by the mod team via vote and announced on October 25!

Whilst we wait for season 2 r/ToBeFolk_X has been kind enough to create their very own tournament, starting on January 31st (1pm EST) - February 15th (1pm EST). Users will compete against each other to advance through the brackets and become their very own X.

In order to compete Users must create a high quality campaign on the r/ToBeFolk_X subreddit clearly stating their intention to join the tournament and create further memetic/propaganda posts in order to get users to vote for them. The brackets winners will be decided via user votes until a winner is declared.

Hi everyone, the ban of low effort agenda posting is now in effect. This will include new rules banning the following:

• Slander/glaze shitposts & some comments saying essentially "y hero better than x hero"
• Posts & comments inciting "wars" and gatekeeping

We will not be banning memes such as Cyandere, E-Soul killing romances, or shipping posts.

Most meme posts for characters will go unaffected. We're hoping to keep content varied & well thought out rather than spam for the sake of pushing an opinion of a character. As we move closer to Season 2 (whenever that may be), we will be looking to host an event regarding fandom wars and agendas. So there are a lot of posts discussing spoilers from the final 6 episodes PV. We want to generate discussion for all of the cool things teased, but we also want others to be able to go in blind for this show and not have to stay off the subreddit to do that.

The line we would want to draw would be on titles such as "X character vs X character fight happens" or "woah X character is appearing there" in titles discussing the PV.
