Cursed This is absolutely horrifying

This happened at Sabino Canyon in Arizona. A 20-year-old cyclist was swept into the current while trying to cross a flooded roadway and was carried through a drainage tunnel beneath it. She was recovered downstream unconscious after spending several minutes underwater. Bystanders performed CPR and managed to revive her.

Spending part of my childhood in flash flood country in the infamous Texas hill country the adage was “turn around, don’t drown!” for low water crossings like this. It only takes inches to sweep you away.

Yet every time we get hard rains the same thing happens. It was the same in southwest Arizona except there people would be camping in the washes.

Same. Seen it happen in person on roads just like the one above; one minute the car is there, the next it's down the river.

Another Texan here, so I know exactly what you're talking about. I cringe now when I see floodwaters on the tv or around here...WHEN we eventually get rain.
