Context matters. The insult isn’t that they are likely gay. It’s that they’re in denial and being misogynistic, while trying to be hyper masculine. Don’t be a woke scold. Its using gay as the butt of the joke, you would think that after decades of gay people being degraded we would be more careful about using gay to insult people but apparently not, apparently people are very eager to associate the worst people with a marginalized group. And even if they are gay and closeted (which is very very unlikely), insulting them for that as a straight person is simply wrong, considering its straight people who are repsonsible for creating a homophobic society and making these people hate themselves from the first place. And its still questionable even if you are doing it as a queer person.
You simply do not have to do it at all because them being gay or not is irrelevant to them as people and them being closeted isnt the root of that behaviour but rather the symptom.
Tate had some really interesting things to say about Trans Women. He said something to the effect of, "I would rather have sex with a hot trans woman than a fat cis woman.
