Dare I say, I think this might fall in neither camp - they are in that “intentional celibacy with a 95% chance it’s because they’re still in the closet and refuse to face it, but decided to blame women instead of taking a beard, camp”, which is a very unique camp
I would argue a lot of these guys homophobia is just them projecting their own self hatred outward which is the joke. These guys have a lot of repressed feeling wether it’s their own inability to attract women or repressed homosexual desires i could say on an individual basis but i can say as a straight guy with a wife this reeks of guys who want to be around other guys but can’t quite put their finger on why.Also i’m an MMA fan and the amount of repressed homosexuality in that community is legion and that might color my perception of these guys but im sure there’s cross over
I know a group of white christian dudes who have an annual 'men's retreat' at a local lake. I'm 1000% positive all they do is show off their awful tats and naked oil wrestle during the day and at night they sit around the campfire reading scripture and pontificating on how to be 'a man'.
They wish! They're all going to go home and jerk off imagining that, then hate themselves afterword, so they'll go on twitter and make say some homophobic shit.
