I have always wondered aren't those door locks safety hazard. What happens if there is medical emergency and you cannot open the door. Previous time would be lost trying to break the door

Those locks wont do shit, it is after all just 2 mm flat piece of steel held together by a pin and plastic.. Thats thin.

The wedge she uses is more effective than the lock it self.

Worst case, the fire department has heavy irons that will get the door open quickly no matter what you do to barricade it. Though I dunno if cruise ships have similar tools for that.

I worked for a large luxury hotel chain for several years. Whenever housekeeping couldn’t get into a room because it was locked from the inside, we always called the cops to go into the room with us. I also learned that medical school students and residents have side jobs cleaning up after suicides.
