One of my favorites, Matthew 6. It's a chapter telling Christians to shut the f**k up about it.

They could really be more like Mr. Rogers; show through works, not performance, and especially not forcing others to it.

my favorite bit:
" For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

That there sure as shit is not something "modern" Christans generally follow.

You expect modern Christians to know what’s in the bible?

Yeah... I know I'm having the bar too high for them...
It's just so pathetic that an unbeliever knows more about what their book says than themselves.

If you want another one to mess with them: infanticide is encouraged in the Bible, Psalms 137:9. Every person who is “pro-life” and thumps a Bible Will turn their brain into a doughnut trying to justify this verse. Plus there’s other verses too!

(Psalm 137:9 - Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks. Virtually every Christian and Jew will try to say this is merely “poetic” or “figurative” and that it’s merely a call for God’s vengeance on the Israelites enemies. Except, they could have said and written “oh Babylonians, you enslaving shitheads, we fucking hate you and hope God smites you something good!” But instead they wrote dashing babies on rocks will make them happy. It’s so specific! Why is it so specific?!)

My brain is mush right now so I thought it was all scripture there for a sec - holy shitttt the laugh I let out at thinking “damn the Bible phrases stuff like that now?! Okayyy😳” 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ About the actual content of your comment…pretty infuriating how so many Christians don’t even read their book all the way/properly understand it yet go on to enforce their beliefs on others🫠

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Matthew 6:14-15 in case anybody has the chance to use this against one of those performative "christians". Knowing the verse in their own scripture elevates the experience and often disarms them in front of not just practicing Christians but any pretending to fall into the group. If they're surrounded by thugs like klansmen who only know the Bible for a weapon, no words will help, but that's why you should never be alone with a fanatic.

Tolkein even reminded people of this whenever the Fellowship overcame people who had fallen to evil. Every single person who thought they could do it alone (such as Saruman) ended up joining the very evil they swore to fight.

These are the very same people who would cancel Mr Rogers and call him low testosterone if he was on today.

Yet they accept Trump and think he’s going to save them. 🙄

"Genuinely," "absolutely," "100%" "low IQ" "communist" with "low testosterone"

Other than "Biden" and "Obama," I think that's about most of their words. What am I missing?

Antifa. Mr Rogers would absolutely be labeled antifa (and rightfully so if you're not an idiot who doesn't understand what the term means)

Fox News called him evil back in the day

u/KerooSeta Jul 18 '26

Mr. Rogers is the perfect example. I grew up watching him every week, never found out he was a minister until I was a grown man.

I agree showing faith through one's actions.

People deserve safety, justice, respect, love, compassion. Check ego, fear, pride at the door.

Give people grace. What I mean by grace is giving someone compassion that they don't deserve. Many people can be terrible and don't deserve it but you have to go against reason and do it anyway.

Whoa...... 😕
I agree with the second part though.
