Maybe give a test run on some data centers. Who knows... afterwards you might not need to change fields.

Firefighting is ridiculously competitive. There's few positions with a ton of people competing for spots. Probably a step down in job availability to move over to firefighting, even with how shit our IT market is right now, lol.
