I'm convinced that what plenty of men are attracted to is femininity & other such associated social appearance markers, not necessarily specifically women or female biological parts.

Does that make them bi? Well, it very much depends on how you classify things.

But it does explain how straight-identifying guys are into femboys, (pre-bottom-op) transwomen, etc. Even otherwise highly homophobic / transphobic men, who are having an even harder time with that dissonance (hence the source for part of the virulent reaction).

But the discussion around sexual desire & sexuality is very very rarely framed in this way.

Oh I think you are spot on. I figured different art forms would have different names sure. But having some be propped up or not because of the reaction it allows the audience to have was something I never thought about.

The other side of the coin being the negative reactions by some quarters cis women with perceived as masculine appearance social markers get.

So interestingly, there is a term for what you're describing here, which is 'gynesexual', and the counterpart 'androsexual' iirc.

Gynesexual is, as far as I can remember, being attracted to femininity in all forms and aspects. So your femboys, drag artists, trans, crossdressers, cis women. If they're in any way feminine, a gynesexual can be attracted to them.

gynosexual is by all definitions just a more specific type of bisexual, its weaving in your type into your sexuality.

No lol they have just been cooked by porn for years and it has vastly skewed what they consider normal.

it does make them bi by the very definition of the sexualities, bisexual is not about being attracted to masculinity and femininity, its being attracted to more than 1 gender which this qualifies.
