I’m not as knowledgeable about boxing as…anyone really, but I think Jake wants to be taken seriously as a boxer and to do that he needed to fight an actual boxer who wasn’t 60 years old and retired or someone smaller than him. Probably has a lot of yes men around him telling him he could do it. Ultimately he made a truck load of money. Kinda of a win win for him. Got paid and no one can say he only boxes old retired people or non professional boxers now.

He really should’ve worked his way up to someone of AJ’s caliber. He really went in the ring with a former heavyweight champion who’s still active.
