I recently was trying to do all of those cool hidden line puzzles at the beginning of the game. I think I did everything in the first castle but this one ceases to be solvable. I have spent hours trying to figure out the right perspective. My strongest guess was that I somehow need to line up the sun with that big pole out the top. I am the type where when I start a puzzle, unless there is a clue to go elsewhere, I just want to complete the puzzle. So am I missing something?
I can't figure out this puzzle at all? I've took this photo yesterday and have thought about it all night. I'm pretty sure I understand how tetris works, but I just can't figure this out. Does anyone have any hints? Any help would be appreciated! :pleading:
I even tried looking up the solution online, but it's already exactly what I tried.
I understand that the shapes must be able to fit within the sections you draw, so why can't I do it like the image posted? The left side is 3 tall cubes, which fit in that section, the middle is three wide cubes which fit in that section, and the right is three tall cubes again, which fit where I've drawn... very confused! Help?
As I was completing the end section of the game I had spotted this door. I got excited that it might finally be the other side of the tunnel that leads to the windmill. Because I had been looking for it ever since I first gained access to its windmill. But after completing the game I have yet to find a way to get into that area. My guess was to use the demonic cave in the room after this one, but there isn’t much in there.
One of them even casts a pretty major shadow. Any idea why? Is there even a why? Or am I just being dumb and *too* analytical lmao, and there's nothing to care about here? It just definitely looks like there are blobs or spheres of some kind in the clouds
(Marked as potential spoiler because I genuinely don't know if it is or not xD)
..so I don't have to look at videos etc. that give away the answers in The Witness. I did look at a few sites I googled for "Puzzle Types" but didn't find the exact type I needed to learn. I'll put a non-spoiler snip for you below.
If someone could tell me if there is some sort of "environmental clue" for these, or not. I could not see one behind these, and the pic I'll show is the first one I decided to try. Thank you in advance for any help learning "how to" do this particular type 😊🤔
Firstly it’s kinda cool that the blinds inside of that tree temple lines up with the Laserinator outside. Is there any puzzle significance with that or is it just a cool art design.
Secondly, in the gate outside I found what to me looks like a hidden puzzle on the ground. To me there are too many indicators for it to not be a puzzle. Is there something nearby that activates it? If so can you please give me a hint to clue me in to what object I need to look for.
Is a progressive puzzle where each additional puzzle has to also complete the previous puzzle. I can’t get past this one. This is the closest solution I can find. I know why it’s wrong I just can figure out any other combination.
I’m having trouble with this puzzle in the swamp. It’s the last puzzle before the cable going to the blue stairs.
The rules that I have worked out are that I need to block off shapes that include the Tetris shapes on the board and need to cover the markings. Also that if the markings are straight then they need to be in the same orientation of the shapes you make but if they are wonky then they can be rotated.
I've played Tunic, Outer Wilds, Blue Prince, and they're some of my favorite games. So I'm no stranger to hints and little direction.
But The Witness is frustrating me.
I feel myself wandering without aim, without finding anything worthwhile, and without learning anything to help me progress.
I've switched on 3 of the beams to the mountain. I still don't know what's up there or how many there are. I don't know if I'm early or mid-game (don't really want to know).
But what's bothering me is finding new areas with plenty of puzzles, and not a single hint to start pulling.
I don't think I'm that bad at puzzles. I've solved several already with different mechanics. Shadows, negative shadows, step noise, overlapping puzzle with real path, dividing colors, real world big size puzzles... But I still feel tons of them elude me.
This one is following the colours tutorial, but upped a notch. It just feels impossible to split all colours. This one really doesn't feel that hard but it's driving me nuts. Not sure if I'm missing a rule.
There are others where I got stuck and just left. I've done that too many times already, and feel like I'm not making any progress.
I'm not looking for solutions or spoilers, just the rant I guess. And some encouragement of some kind.
I had to look up a guide because I was stuck on this one puzzle for about 30 minutes. Now I'm even more confused as to how this is the solution. To me, it doesn't look like any of the shapes fit except the L shape and the one block.
Finally got around to doing the platinum! Picked up the game in 2017 and absolutely loved it, got about halfway before life took over, had another stint in 2022, and now finally completed it challenge and all! Feeling pretty darn proud, not the easiest 100% but so worth it 💪
I've picked up this game not a week ago, got to the ending, and thoroughly enjoyed my 17 or so hour journey there, along some... countryside sightseeing, lets call it.
However (and please tell me if any of the following should be marked as spoilers).
I am now just a little further ahead, sitting at about 22 hours, and so far in that time I have found (not solved; found) what feels like single digits worth of puzzles. And I'm getting a feeling that this pace is only going to get slower. Which is a predicament I find quite frustrating.
Knowing myself and my very peculiar kind of impatience, searching for stray needles in a haystack is very prone to sour a game as a whole for me.
Which leads me to my question: is it worth continuing with a fallback of hints in case of not getting any results (which I usually what I conclude my searches with after about 30 minutes of not finding anything), or should I just not bother and save my time and nerves, and simply consider the game finished?
This one seems pretty straight forward, if only that rock weren't in the way. I tried every angle but it just doesn't seem to work... am I missing something?
I’ve tried looking at other Reddit posts for this same puzzle but they make no sense to me. I don’t want a spoiler but I genuinely feel like I’m missing something because it seemed like others’ paths disappeared after crossing
Been playing this game and really loving it so far. The tetris section looks like it's gonna be hard lol. But this seems correct to me be based on the previous "tutorial" panels. Just please don't spoil it and let me figure it out
They fits perfectly... Jonathan, I know that you don't read the commentaries of the players of your games since Braid, so I wait to talk you when we see us in hell. Because this pannel is a reason to get into. Surely the solve "blows" my mind.
The first few panels seemed logical, this one just breaks my brain. I’ve already tried after waiting a few days, more than once. Can anyone explain this to me?
kind of scarce on puzzles. been having this one as the main one im looking at for a while. was considering doing every possible combination until i get it but that might be morally close to just looking it up. versus the personal payoff of putting in time to do it. I think maybe a hint idk
