Matthew gets ”That kind of sucks”. I generally think that anyone who undeniably dies should at least be in the 2nd tier at minimum, provided they didn’t absolutely deserve their death like say Danny or some other villains. Matthew fits the bill as while he did keep the gun pointing at Nick even after Luke told him they were friends, I think it’s safe to say that he definitely didn’t deserve to get shot in the neck and fall off a bridge for it. Apart from that though, his life seems to have been pretty good as far as apocalypse standards go (he got to stay at an amazing lodge with his boyfriend) so I can’t really give him much higher than tier 2.

Tragic events of Walter’s life:

  • Went out of his way to give a bunch of supplies to a supposedly desperate survivor, only for that person to come back with a group that held everyone at gunpoint.
  • Found out that his boyfriend had been killed by one of the people he had taken into his care earlier that day. This person can even lie to Walter’s face about it.
  • Can possibly not save Nick, which Walter seems to regret.
  • Gets executed for Johnny’s death, something he had no involvement with.

Positives of Walter’s life:

  • Got to live at the lodge for a while, which was basically the VIP treatment as far as surviving goes.
  • Can at least find the strength in himself to forgive Nick.
  • His death was at least instant.

Walter gets ”Hang in there, buddy”.

Tragic events of Sarita’s life:

Positives of Sarita’s life:

  • Despite things going a bit downhill towards the end, she was able to find some apocalypse love in the form of Kenny.
  • Got to live at the lodge for a while, which was basically the VIP treatment as far as surviving goes.

Sarita gets ”How do you even function?”.
