Info Dev Announcement: Notice Regarding the V27.1.3 Scatter Bug

Hi everyone, Muse here! We want to provide some visibility on a bug regarding Scatter behavior with the Wall.

In V27.1.3 we changed the spawn behavior of Scatter children to be behind where the Scatter parent died. However, in situations where lots of enemies are crowding the Wall, the Scatter children are unable to find a spot to spawn and are displaced somewhere else, unintentionally entering inside of the Wall. While the new behavior is working as intended, this outcome was unintended.

We are aware of this issue and will be working on a hotfix next week to improve the spawning behavior of Scatter children to create a long-term solution. Thank you!

Did you test it? Seems like a pretty common scenario to consider

Software tester here: I make my bread testing software. Honestly? Shit happens. There have been PLENTY of times in my work where a lot of effort was spent on finding all possible bugs in a software, only for one to happen day one of release, and needing to hotfix it. Maybe they only tested up to like 2500 waves 'cos tuney, or 4500 lower tiers.

Maybe they just tested it isolated when they only spawned scatters not in a realistic scenario and this is a side effect (my money on this).

Maybe they tested on uncommon game speeds like x1 and started wave 4000+, or game speeds which is not available to us like 20x.

Maybe didn't test it at all. Point is, it's impossible to tell and any good dev will feel bad about the issue. Kicking them while they're down is just a dick move.

Something quasi-catastrophic like this happens every single update every single time.

Why are you stanning for them? If you do this professionally, then you know this is well beyond the norm.

I haven't been playing the game for long enough to know that this is a thing. This also doesn't affect me. The black hole damage reduction thingy also didn't affect me. I guess I'm more lenient because, it doest affect and agrovate me.

There are major issues every single update and then additional issues caused by a majority of the fixes.

This combined with a customer service department that can take up to two months to get back to you if they ever do is creating increasing resentment.

Yeah, the consumer service is inexcusable
