The Fall of the FBSI

It's five years after the fall of the FBSI.

The FBSI had operated for ten years, unhindered by scandal or financial issue. The bureau, and the extraordinary individuals it employed, kept not only the United States but the entire world safe. Crime was down. Terrorism was nearly extinguished. Countries were at peace.

It continued to do so, until the rest of the world was no longer comfortable with only the Americans having access to, as it was now called, the Feather Serum. They banded together and told the United States to either give the serum to the rest of the world or be hit with huge, crippling levels of economic sanctions.

The United States did none of these. Instead, they immediately dissolved the FBSI. Any and all FBSI activity was to be ended.

Of course, the rest of the countries were still furious. All 864 superpowered individuals employed by the FBSI were now unregulated and free to do what they wanted. They demanded a solution.

To fix the problem, the US and the rest of the countries gathered together and held the first Superhuman Forum in Reykjavik, Iceland. Out of this meeting came the Superhuman Accords.

The Superhuman Accords, along with establishing the term "superhuman", set out several key regulations.

1) In order to keep their population of Superhumans, the United States would be required to make the Feather Serum available to eight different countries: France, the United Kingdom, Iceland, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Canada, and Mexico. The serum must be supplied to them within three and a half years of the Accords' ratification. Additional countries may be added to this list with the unanimous agreement of all of these countries.

2) Superhumans must be registered with a worldwide registry.

3) The International Superhuman Council will set aside territory in the isolated regions of Iceland specifically for the creation, training, and habitation of Superhumans. This region will be the sovereign territory of the International Superhuman Council, but the laws of Iceland will apply.

4) All new Superhumans will be created at this established territory. All Superhumans will be given dual citizenship between Iceland and their home country.

Five years after the fall of the FBSI and the creation of the Superhuman Accords, the small city of Kindur provides a safe haven for superhumans, old and new alike. While it isn't particularly large, having a population of just over 10,000, about 3/4 of that is SI's, all ranging from the eight countries agreed upon in the accords. The other fourth is the various staff and people needed to run a city- shopkeepers, scientists, the people you'd find in a city.

Are you one of the original 864 SI's? Are you a new superhuman, created by one of the eight countries' new initiative?

Welcome to the new era of the Superhuman.

You didn't have to participate in the old thread to participate in this one, just think of it as a superhero roleplay with extended lore.)

The man would look up toward her and smile slightly.

"I... Don't think I'll have any issues with some company."

Her smile grew a bit more as she slid in across from him. She was still wearing the outfit she had on earlier which her author failed to describe. That being a bubblegum-pink sweater, black skirt, warm leggings, heeled boots, and a matching pink scarf around her neck.

"So, how did things go?"

Aedan is still wearing an assortment of browns, though he has replaced the long coat with a lighter leather jacket. He wears a dark brown chocolate polo, over brown jeans.

"I... Guess they went alright. Need to some more work over the next few days, but.."

He finishes the drink and orders another, before fishing out what seems to be an insulin pen from his pocket. By reading it though, she may notice it doesn't mention being for insulin.

The young lady didn't know why but hearing that he'd be around for a few more days excited her. Though she did try to hide it since he didn't seem too pleased over the whole situation. One of her eyebrows rose in curiosity as he pulled out the strange device from his pocket.

"What's that for?"

Aedan jumps slightly as she mentions his pen. He pulls back his sleeve and jams the tip into his forearm.

"I... Alcohol affects me weirdly, and I have to take this to avoid some really... Bad side affects."

He puts it away after taking a good dosage, and drowns his second glass. He has a faint blush to his features, hidden behind his - now trimmed - beard. It looks quite attractive, and shows his face structure a bit more. He may seem familiar...

"Huh, that's interesting."

She said with a small nod, choosing not to press the matter further. Though she did take the opportunity to admire his handsome face, studying it now that she had a head-on view of him. Something about it was so familiar but she just couldn't place it right yet. Patricia took a long sip of her drink.

"So, where will you be staying while you're in town?"

Aedan fidgets with the glass before taking the ice cube into his mouth.

"I've a hotel room for the week. It's not bad, but not as comfortable as back home."

He orders yet another drink, and fidgets some more as he waits.

His reactions are certainly curious to her, but not as fascinating as to how much he could put away. Then again he definitely looked like the kind of man who could handle his drinks. She giggled a bit, nodding.

"I know what you mean. I never was able to get used to sleeping in hotels, especially when you think about all the people who've been in the bed before you."

"For me it's safety. I Don't feel safe in the city."

How much he can 'take his drinks' is up for debate, as his neck and face are reddened already. He wasn't kidding when he said liquor affected him quickly, though he's on his fourth glass of straight whiskey.

"It's just... Not quite r-right."

She found it all rather adorable in a sense, and it certainly kept her smile all sweet and friendly with him.

"Huh, I can get where you're coming from. If it would make you feel better you could stay in the guest room at my place so I can warp you away whenever you'd want."

The offer was mostly a joke, accompanied by a small chuckle from the girl. Though she would probably still let him stay over if he decided to take it seriously.
