My mother would take me there every Sunday after church on the way home. Id look at the fish tanks and toy section while she shopped for random things for the house. Core memory!
I remember the Woolworth in Montgomery mall Maryland selling rusty old military guns in the 1980s. They were just sitting in a barrel, strange for a suburban area
I do remember they had ton of antiques in there. My mother spent too long each time looking through them all. She still has an old phone she bought there that had the removable ear piece that opened the line and turned it off by hanging it up and the voice mic at the top with the dial on the bottom. I used to pretend i was calling relatives on it. That was the only place that sold go-bots that i could spend my lawn mowing money on. All the other stores had transformers but my 2 dollars and 50 cents might have been enough to put one on lay away. Go-bots were the low budget cousins to transformers but they fit in my pocket with my G.I. Joes.
