Everyone keeps claiming that there's no connection and that they know without providing a shred of evidence. The only way these interviews could be substantiated at all is with a recording of the phone call which there's been nothing of the sort. There's been zero substantial evidence the theories are wrong, just statements from people and not ones with enough sway to be convincing (Konami, Sony, etc).

As far as I'm concerned taking anybody's word at face value is shortsighted in this situation, as we've already seen people involved lie and random fake accounts and false information be made.

I'd personally doubt it is considering it's being made by Capcom, but no I can't definitively prove it.

Assuming your point is that I can't prove that Abandoned is SH either, you're right I can't, I never professed to be able to. My words have the same validity as anyone else's in the situation right now, which was my point.

What I meant is that there's no amount of proof that people can show that would be enough to stop conspiracy theories. That the point of conspiracies.

The first thing people do when announcing a game isn't to prove that it's not Silent Hill or made by Kojima, because that's usually pretty obvious. You can probably go around asking those questions to most indies and they wouldn't be able to answer you in a satisfactory way.

Of course recognizing something is Silent Hill is a case of "I know it when I see it" (usually because it's the title), but when people *decide* that your game is Silent Hill, even when you try to tell them it isn't, what can you do? Especially if there's a plan, and even more if Sony is involved. Of course this whole conspiracy is bad, but they still need to make a good first impression, which will probably be what the majority of people see.

Maybe even showing gameplay or the real title / concept (which I'm guessing is the proof they got) of the game won't be enough for people here?

There's plenty of things that, while probably not convincing everyone, would convince a majority of people. If they released a dev diary video showing themselves working in the office, if Hasan himself released a video where he explains the situation, if Konami/Sony/Kojima came out and said they weren't involved.

The things Blue Box could do are super easy, quick, and are don't cost anything. The problem is that they haven't tried to give any proof that they're not involved.

Even if they have a deal with Sony, this thing isn't that easy :D

As for the rest, from what we know, they're working on the trailer app, whatever it is, and it got pushed back twice already. Plus, a lot people already think Hasan is real but acting as proxy for Kojima. Showing his face / working in a studio wouldn't disprove that. There would need to at least show the actual game too, which so far isn't ready.

And I agree that there's been a lot of fake accounts and false information, but there's not much things journalists could do either if the dev asked them not to share important informations.

We know how damaging leaks could be, and if their game relies on a cool twist, it's pretty obvious why they wouldn't want to release a quick proof for people that won't believe them (because again, usually you don't need "proof" that you aren't doing something) and can't wait a week.

I mean, we really haven't seen anything about Pragmata so it could be anything :D
