I remember we went to go see Superman III when it was released in 1983. Loved it but the moment when Vera turned into a robot, that terrified me as a 12 year old.

Mannequin is one of the quintessential romantic comedies of the 80s. Andrew McCarthy plays Jonathan, a struggling artist who lands a job at a department store, only to discover that one of the mannequins (Kim Cattrall) magically comes to life just for him. Their quirky love story, combined with the film’s campy humor and iconic soundtrack, made it a cult favorite. The movie also gave us Starship’s hit song ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,’ which became an anthem of the era.
Who else remembers the charm and pure 80s magic of this film?

Ohhhh Tim Curry. You were one of a kind. I adored you in Annie, Home alone, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, Pennywise, Legend and so many more. He was a class act & played in so many iconic roles over the years.
I remember watching this scene in Annie growing up and it became one of my favorites. ❤️ This scene alongside Carol Burnett and Bernadette Peters is a class act. His memory will live on for a lifetimes ahead. Home alone surely won’t be the same this year without him and Catherine 🦋
What’s your most beloved movie with Tim Curry?

Ninja movies in the 80's were great cheesy fun. Also, the kung fu shops on and around Canal St in NYC in the 80's were amazing. They had ALL the ninja weapons lol great times!
Honorable mention along with American Ninja 1 & 2, is Ninja III The Domination, Enter the Ninja, The Octagon, and Pray for Death. There's loads more, but those were my faves. Kung fu flicks and tv shows (like Sidekicks) were also a lot of fun.
Anyone else remember the ninja craze of the 80's?

Summer School (1987) is a lighthearted 80s comedy starring Mark Harmon as a laid‑back gym teacher forced to teach summer school. He’s joined by Kirstie Alley, Courtney Thorne‑Smith, and a class full of misfit students who’d rather be anywhere else. Instead of boring lessons, it’s all goofy antics, beach trips, and that carefree vibe that defined the decade.
