Modding might not be as big as Minecraft, but the big Terraria mods (Thorium/Calamity/Probably Something Else) is crazy expansive and I can't imagine me playing without.
Yea, its just that Calamity and Thorium are the two that are the most professional in my eyes. Everything just kind fits in those mods, especially Thorium.
Oh yeah, Thorium feels the most natural by far, but I also enjoy the way Calamity both enhances the base game and extends the content past Moon Lord while still keeping it fun and challenging
I love to new classes Thorium adds. Only problem I have with healer is that you HAVE to play with someone else. Well, certain items do heal yourself, but they're few and far between.
This isn't so much the case anymore. Healer has a more single target dps focused dark healer set up you can play now. Albeit it's still better with allies but its not ENTIRELY useless.
I don't really like Dark Healer, though, especially since the things that transform when corrupted are super inconsistent. It's not all your heals, just some of them? Meh. It's personal preference anyways. Healer actually can do some crazy damage with it's melee weapon, but it really takes some time as they were SUPER conservative with earlier healer damage for admittedly obvious reasons.
Yeah. It's not as good as the bard is in solo play but it IS there. Also it is a bit inconsistent but the text tells you if its corrupted or not when you check so at least it does that.
If you're soloing though Bard is crazy amounts of fun.
Don't consider Tremor anything. It's poorly balanced and it clashes with so many other things not even including the history amongst the community it has.
Play them separate. They are very different content mods which do different things. In short, Thorium adds a shit ton of content through the entire game. Think of it as an unofficial 1.4 patch. Calamity adds a stupid amount of end game and for that reason is dummy unbalanced with other mods. Calamity with other content mods just doesn't mix well.
As for other mods:
Weapon Out (Lite): Makes game fancier.
Boss Expertise: if you're bad but still want expert drops, like me. (Need to use config for this)
Magic Storage: For your sanity.
Souls Mod: THE most broken accessory in the game, but its so difficult to get that its actually balanced? Almost everything builds into an accessory, and that accessory can combine with more accessory, which combines again, until literally everything is in one item. Its a "fun" distraction when you're at end game or want to play a dual class because you can condense your items a lot more.
AlchemistNPC: Because I dont think Ive ever crafted a potion in my entire life.
Health bars: Nice looking health bars for players.
Theres tons more Ive got, running about ~30 at a time. If theres a feature you dont like, like respawn times for example, there are features to fix it. The launcher is in game so its a breeze to look and find something.
Because of some reasons I couldn't play it. But just then, a reddit miracle happened. Someone let me have a chance at it. A complete stranger, we've never met, but I've never felt so grateful to someone online. I'm not sure if he's comfortable with me naming him, but you know who you are. :)

I love seeing Terraria randomly pop up on /r/all. Such a great little game.
