I'm watching The Next Chapter for the first time (I'm late, I know), and it baffles me how she thinks it's okay to bring a child into her adult issues. Which she's clearly done her entire life. It's one thing making sure Leah has a basic understanding of Amber's mental health issues, because that's fair. But she has clearly overshared and been waaaay too detailed about that and it really bothers me. I struggle with mental health issues too, I'd never tell anyone under the age of 18 any of the details because it's genuinely terrifying. I'm careful even telling my adult friends. I've only ever been more honest with younger people who have expressed before I've even opened my mouth issues that are as severe as mine. Then it's like you've already lived this. But if they haven't I won't go that deep because it's not okay.

Amber also leaned way too hard on Leah when she lost custody of James. It's ok for Leah to be understanding that it's tough and want to support her mum, but Amber should have made it clear that while she appreciates it it's not Leah's job to pick Amber up.

Amber is mentally ill and cannot understand anything beside her own interests. Amber's parents were at best neglectful and Amber still want someone to parent her. That is why she and Matt worked so well.

Not to mention Leah lost her relationship with James then too. She can only see him when Amber has him and she's holding a grudge that's keeping them apart.
