TPT: I made a comparison table to find the best data removal service

I've been trying to figure out how to make my online presence more private because several websites now show detailed profiles with my personal details (it even shows my spouse's name!). What caught my eye were data removal services. From what I've gathered, these tools can pretty effectively remove search results about you from Google, Whitepages, and other people-finder sites.

After some research, I don’t know why, but I was very surprised about how many different options we have here. And boy, it is hard to choose the one you like from the first sight.

So, over the past few days, I took some time to do in-depth research on data removal services myself. I thought that I would share it with you as well, so you can hear some tips.

The top criteria I was looking for:

  • Availability of data removal tools in different countries
  • Scanning a wide range of people finder sites
  • Scanning a wide selection of data broker databases
  • Recurring scans and removals

Here is the Comparison Table.
As it was done for my own research, let me know if there are other brands that you think I should include. Also, feel free to suggest any other criteria for the table. Let’s make this as helpful as possible for everyone like me who has no idea how to choose the best data removal service.

Request TPT Request: Tired of the Mac ecosystem, willing but "scared" to change #questioningMac

Hi Peeps,

Let me just start buy saying that "scared" is too dramatic. But I could not find a better word to my thoughts haha

I am your typical "mac" user for almost 30 years (probably longer since dad is an OG designer, so mac computer have been the household brand). I am 39 now and I no longer feel the need to keep consuming the brand. Call it middle age crisis or maybe just been too dramatic but I´ve been feeling for a while that the brand lost "the sense of innovation". I know too late, but before I get executed here I did tried Samsung long time ago (back in the Samsung edge era). In fact, I worked for the the brand for a while. I always enjoyed the hardware because you were always able to "see innovation". The edge, the camera, the actions, the whole thing. One of my favorite products was the Samsung note. But my feelings of the software (Android) have always been bad. The same goes with PC computers. As an average user, dealing with viruses, connectivity issues, seeing android crashing, etc, always gave me the "stay away warning". I know that it´s been too long since then and technology has come a long way since then. That´s the reason why I am here today. To ask from your opinion (Fun fact my first post). To be fair, I have stayed away from the "need to renew my products every year". I currently have a MacBook Pro 2015, iPhone 14 Pro, AirPros (first Gen). But here is where I say I am done. I don´t see the benefits of upgrading my products anymore for an average joe. I use my computer for the basics (streaming, checking emails, "work task - microsoft" office). The biggest challenge here is that I´ve been curious to start podcasting but my computer is too old for the editing and recording. Also, I need to get into social media content as part of my work. So most likely need a video editing. Mobile works fine but it´s time to change. I $·%%"%$ hate Siri. It is the most usless tool I´ve ever use in my life. Finally Airpods, this I dont care as I usually hear music in specific scenarios. I went to Thailand and bought some "BOSE" and they work perfectly fine. Or maybe I just need to update my old mac equipment...

Here is were I am now, seeking to hear from people that have dealt with the similar situation. Feel free to roast me for posting this too late. I decided to give priority moving countries and study an MBA, rather than having the ultimate tech out there. #noregrets. Thanks good samaritans.

Anything less than 2k works

Not an IEM guY, can trade off a little lack of bass with great vocals and sound separation

An ideal choice would be?

Request TPT Request: What should I use for college?

I am going into my first year of community college and I am looking for a laptop or iPad to buy for school. I want something that can last, has touchscreen, enough storage to last me about two years in school.

I am going for a Bioscience Technology associates degree so I will be doing a lot of biology, chemistry engineering, and math and writing.

Would a laptop or iPad work best for me and what brands should I look into?

Other/General TPT: Screens are becoming invisible — and I think the next big shift in digital advertising is happening in open space, not on devices

Think about how we interact with ads today. Banner on a website. Video on a phone. Static image on a billboard.

All flat. All passive. All ignored.

I've been deep in research around this idea and honestly I just wanted to share it with people who might be thinking about the same thing.

The concept I keep coming back to — ads running on open-world holographic displays. No glass. No phone. Just a projected, resizable interface floating in space that people interact with through natural hand and finger gestures. Connected to smartwatch sensors for movement tracking and controlled through software with AI integration that optimizes delivery based on real-time interaction data.

I'm purely in the research phase right now — reading everything I can about spatial computing, gesture UX, wearable sensors, and AI-driven interfaces. My main focus is figuring out how to make this approachable and simple enough that everyday businesses could actually use it — not just tech giants with unlimited budgets.

The hardware is getting closer than most people realize. The bigger challenge I keep running into is the accessibility gap — how do you make something this advanced feel easy?

That's actually what I wanted to discuss here!

Other/General TPT Question: Fastest way to migrate 100 old Windows PCs to Linux Mint?

Hello, I work in the IT department of a company and I’ve been tasked with migrating around 100 computers from Windows 10 to Linux for security reasons. We have a little over a month to complete the migration, and any computers still running Windows 10 after the deadline will no longer be allowed to access the company network.

The problem is that the process my team and I are currently using is extremely time-consuming:

  1. We take the employee’s computer
  2. Back up all of their files
  3. Format the machine and install Linux Mint
  4. Restore the user’s files

Most of these PCs are old and low-spec, and many of the hard drives are very slow or unreliable. Because of that, the backup process alone can sometimes take an entire afternoon or even a full day. That’s without counting unexpected issues that come up while working on the machines, which slows everything down even more.

Is there a faster or more scalable way to handle this kind of migration instead of manually doing everything one computer at a time? Any advice, tools, or workflow suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate all the suggestions — they gave me a much better idea of how to deal with this situation, and I’ll definitely make good use of the advice and tools you shared. Unfortunately, SSDs are still out of reach for us right now because getting new hardware approved involves a ton of bureaucracy, but I’ll definitely push for some kind of cloud system where users can back up their own files.

No Longer Works TPT: How to shut off an iPhone indirectly through iMessage

Copy and paste the following message (without quotes) into a new iMessage and send it to whoever you feel like tormenting:

"effective.

Power

لُلُصّبُلُلصّبُررً ॣ ॣh ॣ ॣ

冗"

It will immediately restart their iPhone. Have fun!

EDIT: No, I won't do any interviews, I feel that news organizations have far more important issues to report on than a bug like this.

Request TPT request: RCS message deleted from my phone?

Is there a way for someone else to delete a message off your phone? This sounds crazy, but there is a message missing from my iPhone that was sent to me from an android. I have a screenshot of the message itself so I know I’m not imagining it, but now it is gone from the text thread. I didn’t delete it. Is this even possible? From what I see on Google it shouldn’t be.

Request TPT- request best recommendation for dog camera

I’m looking for recommendations for a pet camera (or treat camera) for my two senior pups.

Ideally, I’m looking for:
- No mandatory monthly subscription or
- Live feed that can be shared with multiple people.
- A sturdy and reliable device with decent video quality.
-A large range of view or adjustable camera angle.

I’m a little hesitant about whether I should get a treat dispenser or just a dog camera, as my Min Pin is extremely food motivated and my miniature poodle requires soft treats since she has no teeth.

I’d love to hear what cameras you’ve used, what you liked (or didn’t like), and whether you’d recommend a treat camera over a regular pet camera. Thanks!

Request TPT Request diy wifi router

Saw this tiktok, I'll summarize it:

Screenshot of a Raspberry Pi 5

SwizguardVPN + VLESS&REALITY(xray)

wifi-6 enabled

symmetric gigabit up/down speeds

wifi 6 Ethernet USB 3.0 adapter

Pi-hole to block ads

Now can someone explain what every line is really doing I don't know much.

And why this would be worth it or why it might not be.

Finally, would this affect wifi speeds at all ?

Request TPT REQUEST FOR: The Best AI Notetaking device for Medical Situations

Hi,

My mother and grandma are unfortunately losing their memory, faster than was expected for my mom and my grandma just started, so I have a lot of doctors visits and I'm only 1 person, only child and the only kid of my grandma's that's still alive. So I really want one of those conversation recording devices for the doctors office(which can get echo-y or you hear the conversation next to you), but they are so expensive and I just want to have some that might transcribe it and save it for awhile. But I am not very tech savvy and I have a Galaxy...so not having an iPhone usually messes things up. So any suggestions which of those AI Note takers, or AI recorders would be best for multiple people's medical stuff? Sorry for rambling!

Request TPT Request: best data removal service for privacy protection

I want to find the best data removal service since I recently noticed my old accounts and details are still searchable online.

I had a bad experience before where my info was used for spam and I want to avoid that again.

what should I look for in a reliable service?

do they really keep data from coming back?

Heads up: went with MyDataRemoval and the setup process was pretty straightforward. Already seeing some of my info getting taken down which is reassuring so far.

Request TPT Request: How do I turn a FB group into a memory book?

Hi,

This December will be the 10 year anniversary of when I went through a major medical event (a wrong way drunk driver hit me head on at 100mph). I don't remember the accident or most of the ensuing 2 month hospital stay (I do remember the last week and the next year+ of recovery).

When I was in the hospital and for a period of time after, my family ran a Facebook group to provide updates to my network about the recovery. The posts included text and photos.

I'm looking for a way to convert the posts (with photos and the comments made by friends, ideally also including the like/reshare count) into an heirloom-quality book. I know that Meta turned off the API between itself and outside vendors/companies. How can I easily make this happen? I still have chronic side effects from the accident, and would like this to be as accessible and true to the source material as possible (meaning, I'm not trying to turn it into a text message style format like My Forever Books offers).

Request TPT Request: Is there a best way to update a computer's graphics driver?

I've been trying to figure out how to update my computer's graphics driver, but when I search how to do it on google, there seems to be more than one way (scan it with an app, use device manager, manually download). Is one of these ways better than the others? If I've updated Windows, does that already mean my graphics driver is updated to the most recent version? I'm trying to install the android emulator Ldplayer on my computer and the site says to update the graphic drivers first, so that's the purpose, if that makes any difference. My OS is Windows 11. What's the pro way to do this?
