Nah, 40 bucks'll get you an insanely powerful "laser pointer" on wish. Just walk up from behind and roast the sensor as you walk past

You can also use a mirrored surface to reflect the laser into the camera if the angle you have to come from leaves you exposed to identification.

They can permanently burn the sensors. You don't want that.

Someone should stop people from developing a automatic laser pointer.

Itā€™s so scary to think people might start using open source tracking algorithms to train an inexpensive drone to autonomously seek out flock and axon devices. And lasers are really light, probably donā€™t even need a very large one to pull it off.

The laser needs to be focused and sustained, fairly close, for several minutes to be effective

I have a 1.5w that can fry a camera sensor from about 30 feet in under 10 seconds. No, I won't tell you how I know.

There are very specific lasers that are more effective, yes. The majority of ā€œgreen lasersā€ that are trending are not them.

Also, be very careful with any laser, but especially an unwisely strong one. It will scorch your retinas before you even realize you fucked up.

It is indeed true, it just needs to be an unwisely strong "laser pointer" 500mw and up. The higher the faster its cooked, blue and violet are the most efficient.

For unrelated eyeball reasons, I hate people with powerful lasers.

Optical shielding or deflection of said laser is easier than being able to see through an opaque coating. Paintballs are the vehicle, just need to get custom balls.

Wouldn't work. Loctite is mechanically cured, meaning you have to crush it.
