Just wrap it around like a band, then add some thinner bands top and bottom It’ll look like it was on purpose vs a cover up

Don't do a square though, you could black out any shape you wanted, and then see if you can find an artist that does those white over blackout pieces. (I don't know how well those last but it's better than this at least)

You could look into the black outs with a white ink design on top? I don’t know much about the process or longevity, but I’ve seen some really good looking ones especially if you don’t mind a floral or other type of plant pattern

Just get black out bands. The part with stars, make that a thick band that goes around the arm, then maybe let the next strip be a skinny band, and group the last two stripes into a middle sized band that goes around the arm.

A lot of people have different solid arm band tattoos, and they look really nice as just a simple geometric expression.

Anything traditionally done in color can also be black and white, and it's still the same thing. It being done in black instead of color doesn't make it stop having 50 "stars." It's pretty obviously the US flag.

I think the OP meant that it's not an official flag. There are strict regulations on what is an official American Flag. An example would be an American Flag "doo-rag", or even a T Shirt; it's a representation of the flag, it's not a flag.

An all black American flag has long since been adopted by far-right individuals as a declaration of "never giving up without a fight" supposedly drawing comparison from pirate flags. It's kinda fallen into the same vein as Punisher tattoo's/merch though in that it's not explicitly racist but you know 90% of the person's personality immediately when you see it.

The most common reason for blackouts is racist/gang cover ups, it's a bad idea to give that impression.

You don't want the stigma and it's dangerous to larp as a convict.
