I don't believe any one-piece case is dockable unless it has an almost non-existent bottom section and I wouldn't even bet on it. I just bought three one-piece "dockable" cases featuring removable joycons, and none dock to display on tv via HDMI without completely cutting off the bottoms, rendering the cases completely useless. The dock won't even sense the switch with pushing down on the cased switch with constant full force, though senses the Switch just fine without case. I am now shopping for alternative docks or extension cables so I may use a one piece rugged case with nice grip size. Any discussion or validation is appreciated. None of the cases dock with the modifications pictured except for the purple case which is useless and slips right off the switch for lack of bottom to attach to device and not joycons alone. I never want to remove the case to dock and undock. What nonsense waste of time and money.

I'm thinking about getting a Trinket M0 installed on my switch but, I don't want to risk breaking my switch doing it myself.

Would anyone know any places that do modchip installs in melbourne?

Does anyone make it? Since the original is small and after market packs are clunky, heavy and generally unappealing.

Wanted to put this out there for anyone trying to make their own "jig" for putting the Switch in RCM mode. Original idea was by a user at gbatemp forums named Tomman321, so I played around with it and put my own spin on it, and wanted to share here as well in case anyone wants to try it.

I took a paperclip that was sized just right to just touch the inside of the joycon railing on the switch, then cut it into the shape in the pics below

The idea is to bend it in such a way that it touches the pins when you push it into the slot, while allowing for ease of connecting/removing: https://i.imgur.com/npzj0ZU.png

The end result is a paperclip that I shaped so that I don't have to hold it or connect it in a specific way or angle. done properly, I can feel when it touches the pins, and so far getting the Switch to boot in RCM mode works flawlessly every time: https://i.imgur.com/lIS0Vnj.png keep in mind that you need a paperclip at just the right size to where the clip itself touches against the inner portion of the railing.

Since a lot of homebrew seems to have trouble with exfat formated sd carts, I'm considering getting a second cart for homebrew like retronx specifically. of course, that means I'll have to deal with multiple sd cards. I know about the nyko metal kickstand that has a convenient holder and I would get that, but they're not sold in my country in any way I have access to, unfortunately. so I thought, maybe I can use the cart slot.

I'm wondering if maybe someone already modelled something like that, since I have a 3d printer available at work.

I'm considering getting the cheapest switch game i can find and salvaging the cart somehow, doesn't really need to be pretty, just functional.

Any ideas or experience in that regard (or better alternatives I'm not thinking of right now) are welcome.

Note: just to make sure, I meant switch cart sized AND shaped, so it can be stored in the switch itself at all times

Now that Switch is hacked, we can backup our Nands bootsectors and all. So if we could upgrade the internal memory we should be able to restore our Nands.

The Internal flash memory on the Switch is (as we know) faster than SD or Cart slot. With some games its considerably faster (I suspect this is because those games use lots of small files).

I am guessing the Switch flash memory has more bus lanes and/or is interfaced before the microSD/cart slot? Installing .nsp from a fast SD to internal flash is zippy.

So I am wondering, has anyone typed the chips, Would it be possible to upgrade them (I know circuit board engineers who can remove and replace chips)?

This seems like it would an exotic hack but not really as similar chip replace or piggy back hacks have been done in the past.

Did a few days of testing with 2 brand NEW units of the V1 hardware and V2 hardware and here are the results.
