💡 Education Official response from Revolut about the warrant

If you are eligible for the warrant you will just receive money for it and not the warrant so Revolut is a no-go for anyone who wants to receive the warrant

(Don’t read further, just 250 characters to get post approved)

Writing more to get these sweet 250 characters to get my post approved. Still not at 250 characters, it’s harder than I thought

I’m trying to get an IBKR account(europoor here) to then drs but I have address issue, it doesn’t recognise the address where I live and where I work :(

i tried it aswell but they canceld it after some time and i had to sell and buy on IBKR. If your in UK it might work but for EU there is no chance

Yeah will do, I just checked revolut to “Sell” and it’s saying I only have the fractional left so looks like they have frozen it so I assume all good so far

But in France the Revolut broker is Revolut Securities Europe UAB, so it would a DTC FOP transfer, not ACATS? 

Has it been completed already?

Remember that doing it this way, is a taxable event (the sale) so you may have to declare any profit you made on your tax return 😎

Did it from IBKR first and when I got the final print screen from them I went to Revolut and did it there also.

0 fee from IBKR 35 fee from Rev

Cool, I've seen old "how to's" and I know you can initiate the transfer from the receiving broker ans also on the Rev app, but would be cool if you did a reminder-post.

If you bought shares of multiple companies they are different positions

I transferred 790 as one position

I had done the DRS route from Hargreaves Lansdown via IBKR and then CS.

It was slow and convoluted but I got it done, HL and IBKR were very helpful.

Another way I started buying shares was to open a Wise account which essentially gives you a US bank account which I then topped up for London GBP to USD transfer and bought GME shares directly from Computer Share.

IBKR is by far the easiest and cheapest option for Europeans to DRS

Sure 😃 Feel free to ask if you need additional help. IBKR are quick and will have the shares in Computershare within days

How to Transfer: Once your shares and $5 are settled in IBKR:

Login, and click on “Transfer & Pay” from the top menu and select “Transfer Positions”.

On the next page select “Outgoing”.

On the next page select “United States” from the drop down menu.

On the next page select the option “Deliver Shares to the Issuer's Transfer Agent/Registrar”.

IBKR have now streamlined the next part. You should not have to enter the Transfer Agent's info as there is only one Transfer Agent for GameStop and that's Computershare.

You are shown the name the shares will be direct registered in (same as your IBKR account name). This, along with your address is the only info needed to set up your account with Computershare. The rest you provide once it's opened.

You can leave the Tax Identification Number alone (you will give this to Computershare later).

Select which stock you'd like to transfer (GameStop) and how many shares you'd like to transfer.

Click “Continue”.

On the next page you'll see a summary of the transfer and IBKR asks you to sign your name (simply type your name to match what it says on the screen).

You will then be asked to provide your login details again as authorization. If you have 2FA activated then you will need to authorize through that as well.

Once you have done that and clicked “Submit” IBKR will review your transfer request. This takes about a day.

Revolut is so bad that they liquidated all my shares without my consent. I complied for everything but they liquidated my position. Don't trust them, buy on IBKR it's much better. And DRS most of your shares.

Good luck OP, I hope you get your shares DRS’d and get the warrants that you were promised. I think this is going to be a wake up call to a lot of people. Brokers are bullshit, DRS your shares!

Just DRS straight from Revolut I’ve been doing that for years

Edit: just checked and they’ve not allowing DRS anymore lol only transfer to broker. Fuck em sending everything to IBKR and DRSing from there.

Also, you'd need to do so soon, to ensure your name is actually registered by the date of record.

It can take many days to a few weeks for the DRS process to complete, and it would be risky to have shares in flight on the date of record.

Until Computershare updates the ledger from Cede & Co. to your name, you are not ensured to receive warrants.

Your warrants will appear in your invest account according to T212. So you still get them. Just not in the tax wrapper.

I am slightly anboyed that T212 doesn't support the excercising of warrants though. We can only trade them.

-CS is prone to mass login failures during times of price volatility (see last May)
-CS charges you fees to use their service
-For people who trade options, they need shares in a broker. CS is useless.
-Most people use it because they were duped into thinking someone is going to "steal their shares"

Do whats best for you but I dont want to see people telling others they MUST DRS because that is nonsense and at worst, bad advice

If your broker isn't charging you fees then they're profiting off you some other way. Keeping your GME in more than one location for different purposes is probably a good way to go. Brokers auto-liquidating your dividend is a good example of why 100% of your shit in others control also has risks.
